Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › At just 3 years young, Sunshine has spent a lot of her time outdoors, but she’s ready to trade in backyard living for couch snuggles and belly rubs. Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Sunshine is a low-maintenance gal with high-maintenance love to give. She’s wiggly, sweet, and a certified kiss-dispenser who could out-smooch any romantic movie lead. Her stubby legs might not make her a marathon runner, but they sure make her the most adorable zoomie-master you’ll ever see. If you’re looking for a pocket-sized companion with a big heart (and a little body to match), Sunshine's your girl. She’s ready to wiggle her way into your life—and your lap Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2025, 8:03 pm

Story
Athena is an 11 year old, 43 lb, Corgi/Lab mix. Athena is a big dog in a small package; and she still has lots of playful energy but also enjoys chilling by your side or at your feet. Athena can be a bit anxious about new people and situations, so she will just need a patient person or family to let her come out of her shell. Athena does come around with gentleness, kindness, and a few treats, and once she falls in love with her humans, she will reward your patience with endless devotion. Athena would love to be your best friend and adventure companion or walking buddy! She’s not crazy about sharing your attention and would love to be an only pet but has learned to tolerate her foster’s dog and cat companions. Athena will do best in a calm, environment without too much anxiety-producing unpredictability. She is a very emotional and empathetic dog. When she feels safe and loved, she exudes an irresistible joyfulness! Athena is 100% house trained and has excellent house manners, so she can be left at home uncrated when her humans are out of the house. Athena would love to have her own yard and space where she can get in her sniffs and enjoy the sunshine. She is a smart girl and knows commands and absolutely loves to give affection and get pets. She wants nothing more than to be your best friend and enjoy life with her humans. Because of her age and some possible arthritis, she would do best in a home without stairs. If you want to give a sweet senior a loving home for her golden years, apply to meet sweet Athena today! *Athena has glaucoma and likely arthritis or dysplasia* Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!March 4, 2025, 10:01 am

Story
My girlfriend and I broke up and Gizmo reminds me too much of her and I can't bear it anymore. Gizmo is a pug corgie a porgie some would say. Gizmo loves to lick your legs when the time permits in his busy schedule of sleeping, he can be a teddy bear but prefers to lay by you on his own freewill. Gizmo has a ton of personality he will talk to you and make the cutest sounds, he loves to play fetch and go on walks. He is an absolute clown. For the first month he will need to be re-potty trained. He's always struggled with this in new areas but the steps below that I learned from a lot of trial and error work very good. 1. Whenever you leave the room or house put him in the kennel (he comes with his kennel), even if it's to go upstairs and take a shower or something of that similar timeframe. 2. When you take him to go potty how show him a treat (his favorite is pepperoni), tell him "go potty", put treat back in your pocket and he will go potty very quickly, then give him treat.

Story
Louie is approximately 8 years old and was adopted from a shelter nearly 5 years ago. He is a quirky little dog that has a unique look that makes him almost comical in appearance, except for his sad brown eyes. He is nearly oblivious to other dogs and cats, seemingly "minding his own business" most of the time. He has a fear of some inanimate objects such as boxes, large bags, and suitcases. He loves to go for walks and lay next to us while watching tv or reading. It is with very heavy hearts we are asking to rehome Louie, as our daughter (Louie's dog mom) is undergoing a very aggressive chemotherapy regime, and we are unable to manage all that this involves and care for Louie.
