Story
Ross (aka Rocket, fka Kiwi) is an approx 27# Corgi mix with beautiful German Shepherd markings and amazingly cute short stumpers. He’s approx 2 y/o, has the softest fur and is a snuggle bug to his people with a strong herding breed personality. He always does his business outside, using the doggie door like a champ. He really loves walks, and learning to loose leash walk. Ross has displayed some people guarding and herding behaviors in his home so he needs an experienced owner who knows how to direct these behaviors. He has been very quick to learn the sit cue and has been learning other fun things. He and his former foster brother were fast buddies (it only took 4 days for them to start playing and chasing each other around the house) but he hasn’t really liked any unfamiliar dogs since then. Ross needs a family preferably working from home or retired who will include him in their daily activities and hopefully give him a job. He's not good with kids and not cat tested but based on his temperament, cats probably aren’t a good fit. He likes to smack talk and will be a perfect security alarm for your home. He requires a secure fenced in yard as he is not a good fit for an apartment situation. Ross loves to sleep in the big bed with his humans and will go occasionally to his crate during the day for a chill out. He's a lover and will shower you with kisses.  If you’re interested in meeting Ross, the first step Is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Ross is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $400 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.  July 6, 2024, 1:21 pm

Story
Rebel doesn't live up to his name at all! He is an approximately 3 year-old, 40-lb Corgi/Heeler blend. He's dog-friendly and respectful kid-friendly (10+), hates his vegetables, and tolerates his crate. When Rebel wants to be pet, he'll wiggle his backside in your direction. On leashed walks, his first instinct is to GO!, but once he settles into the walk, he's pretty good with some pulling to get to the best smells. Rebel has always lived with another dog and would do best with another dog his size to play with. He knows "sit" and he sleeps through the night in his crate. Rebel is house-trained but as with many dogs in unfamiliar situations, he had some marking accidents when he first arrived to his foster home. He's shown some interest in chew toys but hasn't quite learned to spend much time on them. Only apply for Rebel if you are prepared for normal Corgi things like lots of shedding and occasional smack talk. Rebel has not been tested with cats. While he is kid-friendly, the kid needs to be big enough to handle a forty-pound dog who wants to show his love with his whole body. Rebel doesn't necessarily need a fenced yard if his humans are home for frequent leashed walks and outdoor potty time but an apartment situation with shared walls are NOT a good fit since he does like to bark. If you are interested in meeting Rebel, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check and meet with everyone in the home. Rebel is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.July 6, 2024, 1:21 pm

Story
Eden is an approx 18 mos old 24# petite Corgi. She was surrendered by her family who was no longer able to take care of her. Eden is a busy and active little girl who loves people. She’d do very well with an active canine playmate who doesn’t mind the occasional nip or muzzle punch to initiate more play and enjoys being chased. We think Eden spent a good portion of her time outdoors previously so is learning to be an inside dog. She’s had some potty accidents indoors but for the most part goes outside to do her business when accompanied by her human. She’ll need consistent support and positive reinforcement to continue her potty training and someone home to go in and out with her during the day. She has been sleeping in her crate with some protest but her new person will need to make sure that she potties before bed or you’ll be getting a wake up call about  2-3 AM . She thinks napping and snuggling in the big bed with her human is pretty amazing. She isn’t familiar with flights of stairs or getting on furniture and doesn’t know many cues but does know her name and has a good recall. Eden gets along with most dogs with slower introductions (she can be spicy with unfamiliar dogs who don’t respect her space) but a patient, higher energy pup would be an ideal companion. We have not cat or kid tested her but recommend no cats as she is very herdy and kids 8+. Eden requires a herding breed experienced owner and a fenced in yard; she is not a good fit for an apartment situation. She would appreciate daily walks and/or runs and she is good on the leash. She would likely get kicked out of a dog park for trying to be the fun police. Eden needs an active home with humans who will include her in their daily activities and teach her fun things. She would love to learn a dog sport and/or have a job. Eden is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. If you are interested in meeting Eden you can complete our meet and greet application as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Eden’s adoption fee is $450 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado. She’ll be available  after 7/4 . July 6, 2024, 1:21 pm

Story
Ezri is an approx. 18-month-old 29# Corgi and was a housemate to Eden. He was surrendered by his family who were no longer able to take care of him. Ezri is a busy and active little boy who loves people.  He has a happy soul, is kind, gentle, and is inquisitive about the world around him. He has been enjoying car rides, trying new treats, and meeting people. He just thinks that life is grand! We think Ezri spent a good portion of his time outdoors previously so he is learning to be an inside dog. He’s had some potty accidents indoors but for the most part goes outside to do his business when accompanied by his human. He uses a doggie door (he loves zooming inside and out through it) but is still working on the concept that all potty breaks should occur outside. He’ll need to be watched, consistent support, and positive reinforcement to continue his potty training and someone home to go in and out with him during the day. He has been sleeping in his crate well but does prefer to be close to his humans. Ezri know his name and will come and sit when asked. His skin is recovering from flea bite dermatitis mostly on his legs and paws. He will need weekly soothing baths until he has completely healed. In his short time in foster care his condition has already improved and he is barely itching anymore. He’d love an active canine playmate who doesn’t mind little brother pestering them to play and enjoys being chased. Ezri gets along with most dogs but a patient, higher energy pup would be an ideal companion for this super happy, bouncy, busy pup. He does thinks cats are fun to chase and bark at. He isn’t aggressive with his foster cats but a cat that isn’t dog savvy could certainly be stressed by his energy. He loves being close to his humans and following them wherever they go. He loves kids but because of his energy, older kids 10+ would be a better match. Ezri requires a patient family and a fenced in yard; he is not a good fit for an apartment situation. Daily walks and/or runs would be imperative to keeping him exercised and he is good on the leash. Ezri wants a home with kind humans who will include him in their daily activities and teach him fun things as he is all about enjoying life. Ezri is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. If you are interested in meeting Ezri, you can complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. Story
Paws Corgi / Border Collie Mix Male 7 years old 48 lbs. Hey there - I'm Paws! I'm a loving and sweet-natured pup on the search for my forever home. I may not be the most high-energy dog, but boy do I love walks. You'll know I’m excited for walk time when I start jumping up and down and spinning in circles! But you know what I love even more? Sitting near my chosen human and just soaking up their affection. I’m very calm around new people and am content to ask for pets or do my own thing. On top of it all, I’m potty trained and I know my basic manners. I am still learning to share my food and toys, so I would do best in a home without any other pups or children. I would also do best in a home without cats, as I can’t resist chasing them. It’s just too tempting! Due to my reactivity when walking with other dogs, I’m working on my leash skills and would benefit from a family who can use positive reinforcement training techniques to continue to help me feel more relaxed on leash. I have a heart of gold that I can’t wait to share with my forever family. If you’re looking for a loving guy who’s just as happy snuggling on the couch as he is going on outdoor adventures, apply to meet me today! Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you!

All people inquiring about pets listed as Courtesy Listings on the EAPL website and/or EAPL posting adoption boards should contact the current pet owner/rescue/shelter for answers to any questions and for final approval and placement. Please do not contact EAPL  about courtesy listings. The pet owner/rescue/shelter and new owner shall make all arrangements on transferring the pet, information on history, vaccines, etc.  Please contact   Jeanette Corbin her number is 970-768-4728  I need to rehome my “special needs” Corgi.  I have a story and I find myself in a position that I can no longer provide Chloe with the care she needs.  I love this little dog with all my heart and I want to find the best place I can find for her that will be the best for her.   I rescued Chloe in January of 2022.  Chloe has been a source of joy and companionship since she came into my life.  Chloe is very loving and affectionate. She does like to cuddle, and she is very welcoming towards other people. And, she is, was, my shadow.  She went everywhere with me.   On the 13th of March 2024 Chloe suffered an injury from an unknown source. I have taken her to CSU in Fort Collins, Colorado to be evaluated. The prognosis of that visit was very bleak. Chloe would have needed an MRI to find out exactly what the extent of her injuries were and how to possibly treat them. That procedure would have cost around $7000. Some tests were performed on Chloe to rule out having any fractures. It was found through an x-ray that there were no broken bones. The physical evaluation that the vet made, were, without any kind of surgery or other ways to treat her injury,i.e rehabilitation, she would have about a 5% chance of recovering from this particular injury. If an MRI were to be done and it was determined that surgery would be needed, the vet said that it would possibly be a 50/50 chance of her regaining the use of her legs. Surgery could also run as high as $7,000.  So, any of that would be out of the question to pursue. I am left with very few options to take care of Chloe.   Chloe does have a brand new cart, which she has adapted to very well!  It is a vet recommended cart, Walkin Wheels, so it fits her very well!  She is now looking forward to daily walks, which are very beneficial to help her regain her strength after having to be confined due to her injury. This was to help with any swelling that had occurred and to keep her from moving around more than what she should in order to heal.    She is unable to pee on her own, so she needs to be expressed at least 3 to 4 times a day. She can expel poop on her own.  We have established a routine where taking care of her bathroom needs are pretty much taken care of at a specific time of day. It is quite difficult for me at times to pick her up and carry her as I do have issues with MY back.  She weighs in at 24 lbs. and it can be a challenge for me to bend over in order to pick her up. I am not as young and strong as I used to be! (74)   She has regained her happy deposition and is wanting to play and wanting to try and chase her cats again.  She was pretty despondent for a while, which is totally understandable!     Considering my lifestyle and how taking care of Chloe would hinder that, I find it nearly impossible to care for Chloe the way she needs to be cared for.  She needs an environment where there is care available at all times. She will no longer be able to travel with me and it will be very difficult, if at all, to find care for her when I am gone for extended periods of time. We are continuing to do daily PT procedures.  I do have a wonderful person who comes in to administer chiropractic treatments and acupuncture.   This whole situation breaks my heart. If there is a way for Chloe to have a good life within the confines of her condition, that would be preferable to the alternative.    Please, please, SOMEONE consider giving Chloe the home and the care that she needs.  Please contact   Jeanette Corbin her number is 970-768-4728 July 7, 2024, 8:02 pm
