Story
Royal Ricky, A Brief Porgi HistoryA Porgi is a Pug/Corgi cross. Pugs were the lapdogs of ancient sovereign Chinese. Corgis continue to be the favorites of the English monarchy. "Ricky" means powerful, peaceful ruler.  Ricky is a youthful 15-month-old neutered male Porgi. Filled with enthusiasm and energy, Ricky is ready to take the lead and explore. This 24 lb. dynamo  loves to walk, play ball, investigate, and to greet other dogs. And not to make him sound too common, he does know his manners and is potty and crate trained. Ricky would desire a home with a yard and a person or people who would like to join him in an active lifestyle. His legs may be short but his pep and zest are long.  Porgis demonstrate that courage is not defined by size but by the spirit that lies within. To meet Ricky, please fill out the adoption application at Trevorsanimalrescue.com ##2226344##

Story
Sporting her purple scarf with style is sweet and sociable 8-year-old Sheeba. The 30-pound black beauty, who was formerly someone’s much loved pet, has settled safely inside her foster home, and not only craves her foster mom’s cuddles and snuggles, she readily rolls over for belly rubs and then dances about in delight. Friendly and playful, Sheeba engages easily with dogs of assorted sizes, and being extremely energetic, she LOVES going on walks and on hikes and proved to be a superb traveling companion, going on cross-country trips, in the past. Particularly fond of squeaky toys and chewing bones, motivated by food, love and toys, she presently knows “come,” “sit” and “stay,” and is crate trained and almost fully house-trained. Now all sweet Sheeba needs is an especially loving and active home with no cats and only respectful, older children, to complete her commands and ensure that they are well and truly her fur-ever home.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
Bear brightens up his foster home simply by being Bear. The 6-year-old brown and white beauty is 40 pounds of sweetness and sociability, and adores nothing more than being the focus of his foster mom’s undivided attention. Passionate about snuggling and cuddling on the couch and in bed with her, he loves placing his head on her neck, resting his body fully across her body, having his gleaming coat brushed and burrowing cozily under the covers. Not only does happy and confident Bear love his foster mom, he also loves everyone he meets, immediately offering them his belly for rubs. Engaging easily with dogs of assorted sizes, he’s eager and energetic, enjoys going for LONG walks and would make an ideal adventure dog for hikes, backpacking and camping! Particularly fond of bones, squeaky toys, balls and car rides, and understandably motivated by love, Bear presently knows “sit,” “down,” “no” and “off,” accepts all treats very gently, and is crate trained and almost fully house-trained to use the doggy door. Diligently honing his puppy-like manners, Bear hopes to brighten up a loving and active home that will perfect his manners, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him in belly rubs fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
If you are looking to add some sweetness to your life, look no further then Archie. Archie is a two and a half year old, 35 pound Corgi, maybe Corgi mix with a such a sweet, gentle nature. He was surrendered to CCFR by his family who were moving out of state and had too many dogs to take him along with them. Archie has led a fairly sheltered life, pretty limited to his family, home, and back yard. He is shy at first meeting but does warm up and gives great, full body wags. He’s a pretty mellow guy, but has recently discovered he has Corgi related opinions on noises and people outside so an apartment situation is not a good fit. He is content to hang out with you in the home but would like some adventure time as well. He is potty trained, crate trained, and non-destructive in the home. He walks nicely on leash despite his lack of experience with it. His immunizations are up to date, he is neutered, microchipped, and heart worm negative. He would do well in a home with a secure, fenced yard, with someone who is more at home than not to help him learn about this big world and develop his confidence. He is not cat tested or young child tested. He might be ok with older, respectful children. He would do well with another congenial dog in the home but not do as well if the other dog is very dominant because then his confidence would never get the chance to develop. He could stand to shed a few pounds so daily walks and getting him out to experience more of the world as well as monitored feedings are required. He would be a great companion dog for someone as he is so in-tune with the humans around him. If you are interested in meeting Archie and possible adoption, please complete the Meet and Greet/Adoption Application under forms. We require an application, references, home check, and that Archie meet all those living in the home. Archie’s adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.November 6, 2024, 2:36 pm

Story
Zoomin Zula! This adorable short stack is a 7-8 month old, female, husky/corgi mix. She’s ready for any adventure you are willing to take her on, especially if it involves water. Zula is good with most dog friends, with a preference to those that will run and play with her. She’s house trained, crate trained, and very smart. Zula is affectionate and cuddly, too. Due to her unique breed mix, we are seeking an active home that enjoys working with dogs. She responds so well to training it seems a shame to waste it! Zula is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/zula. You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.
