Story
Tater Tot (or Tater, fka Trent) has instantly made himself comfortable in his foster home. He is a very smart Cowboy Corgi mix approx 22# and knows some basic cues like sit and shake. Being about 1 year old, he still has that puppy energy and is constantly playing with toys or his foster sister. He's also a typical vocal Corgi, greeting all humans and dogs walking by the yard when he's outside, so he is not a good fit for an apartment situation and requires a fenced in yard. Tater is food motivated and loves his treats! He is learning how to take treats with a soft mouth. He is so excited he can't help himself! He is super sweet and enjoys snuggling with his foster parents on the couch. He sleeps in his kennel at night and appears to be mostly potty trained (He's had a couple of accidents, but he's also getting used to being in a new environment and routine). Tater would benefit from a patient and experienced owner who has the time to dedicate to his training and isn’t gone long hours. He is not kid or cat tested but a respectful child 12+ may be considered. If you’re interested in meeting Tater, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Tater is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $375 and we do not adopt outside Colorado.    April 12, 2025, 7:22 pm

Story
This amazing ball of floof is Oreo. Oreo was surrendered by his owner due to too many dogs. Oreo is approximately 1.5 y/o and 30#. He is a good boy who would do best with another playful tolerant dog his size in his new home. He is a bit fearful of bigger dogs. Oreo walks well on the leash and would benefit from daily walks and a basic doggie manners class. Oreo is working on marking and gets better every day. He needs continued support and supervision and let outside often to do his business. He currently wears a belly band at night and sleeps in a dog bed. He tolerates a kennel for short periods but doesn’t love it, so someone home during the day would be best. His fluffy coat will require more than average grooming. Oreo is fearful of grabby hands, humans reaching over him, and fast movements towards him so only homes with children 12+ or no kids will be considered. We do not know how he is with cats but he is very herdy so cats aren’t recommended. Oreo is not a good fit for an apartment situation and requires a fenced in yard. A Corgi experienced home would be best as he’s not a good option for a first time owner. He needs some time to settle and patience while he learns a new routine in a new environment with new people. He can be nervous at first, but once he feels comfortable, he is very affectionate and cuddly. If you are interested in meeting Oreo, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at  https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Oreo is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $450 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado. April 13, 2025, 9:00 pm

Story
Eggs is a 6 month old Low Rider Mix who is one happy guy! He is playful, smart, goofy and intelligent. He loves other dogs, people, and a tad over excited about cats. He has a voice so apartment’s will not be his thing! The best fit for Eggs is a home with a yard, older kids, and an adventurous family/person. He also would love a playful mate but be fine as a single dude with activity. Eggs is a catch!     March 25, 2025, 9:03 am

Benjii, corgi/shepherd mix, 6 yo, 36 lb, male.Benji is cute,  smart, loyal, and has a great steady shepherd-like personality.  He gets deeply attached, although needs a little bit of time to get used to a new place. Would be better as the only dog and would bond closer with a female owner. Would be better with teenage kids. He is patient and great at following the routine. Was found as a stray.   Adoption fee: $300. If interested, please submit an adoption or foster application at http://www.sanNicolaDogRescue.com  March 30, 2025, 7:55 pm

Story
Dixie is a sweet stray dog that was found with two other dogs. She is believed to be a Cowboy Corgi mix with a larger body and shorter legs. Dixie is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her shots. She gets along well with male dogs but has displayed some aggression towards female dogs. Dixie is kennel trained and likely house trained, but has not been able to be in the house due to the presence of female dogs in the home. The user believes Dixie would make a great family dog for an active household with older children, as she will need time to adjust. ##2332887##

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Lucky #8 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   True to his name, sweet 13-month-old Lucky has been given a second chance at life! Affectionate and goofy, resilient and friendly, he’s 42 pounds worth of faithful loving as he blooms in the structured safety and security of his foster home. Thriving on his foster dad’s undivided attention, Lucky loves snuggling and cuddling with him, resting his head on him, rolling over for belly rubs, being brushed and accompanying him on car rides. Enthusiastic and energetic, he also loves chewing bones, playing with strong toys, engaging in active games of fetch, going on three 20-minute walks a day, and doing the classic “puppy zoomies” mid-walk, which, according to his foster dad, is like watching pure joy on four legs. Always excited to meet and interact with other friendly dogs, he’s quickly learning to read their cues just as he’s learning to relax and remain calm for longer periods of time in the middle of the day. Motivated by food, love and toys, clever Lucky currently knows “come,” “sit,” “stay,” “off” and “drop,” is crate trained, almost fully house-trained, and diligently at work on his doggy manners. With much still to learn and much love to share, Lucky’s dream home is one with adoring adopters who will perfect his manners, continue his socialization, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him mentally stimulated and physically satisfied fur-ever.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
