Story
Pembroke Welsh Corgi Mix Age: Senior Male, neutered 20 lbs Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Llew was picked up by animal control off the streets of Hayward. He was unable to use his back legs. Otherwise he seemed in fairly good shape. He must not have been on the streets for long. It is suspected that he had a back problem (IVDD) that was never treated. He has responded well to anti-inflammatory and pain medications. He has gained some use of his back legs (he can stand and walk a few steps). He has been in physical therapy for a few months. UPDATE: With diligent persistence from his foster home, Llew is walking again on his back legs. He is a little wobbly, but he is using his back legs all the time - no more dragging. For all he has been through, he has an excellent demeanor - very friendly, very loving. He can come off as a little “pushy” to some dogs, but overall he gets along well with all the dogs in his foster home. He needs a home with no stairs, and where someone is home most of the time. He would prefer a home with another friendly dog. Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs is willing to assist with his vet costs, if needed. Even though he has regained the ability to walk with his hind legs, the jury is still out on whether he has control of his bladder and bowels. He appears to pee when he goes outside, but he doesn't stop and pee. Similarly, he doesn't stop and poop - it just comes out when it is ready. **About Leo:** Thank you for interested in adopting Leo. Please know that Leo is an international rescue through South Korea. When your application is approved, you will need to pick him up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works.
Leo is curious and loves people. He gets along well with both adults and children.
He has great social skills and even gets along well with children at daycare. He stays calm when touched. He is curious and playful around other dogs. He is active and wants to be friends with them.
Leo likes children.
He gets along well with kids at the daycare playground and enjoys being touched and petted by them.
After playing, he snores while sleeping.
The children he lives with are 10 years old (male) and 13 years old (female).
Leo has a friendly nature, waits for the children to wake up, and tries to get their attention by throwing toys or seeking physical affection. He enjoys cuddling, such as resting his head on their feet or leaning against them. Leo plays well on his own, sometimes chews on things, but doesn’t bark or whine when left alone. He barks at unfamiliar people who come to the door.
No signs of possessiveness. He is curious and playful, actively engaging with other dogs to initiate play. Additional Information * Prefers meat over vegetables or fruits. * Likes the smell of hydrangea and nightshade trees. * Enjoys walking on grassy or leafy paths more than cement roads. * Although curious, he is cautious and careful. If you’re interested in adopting Leo, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more details. We’d be more than happy to help! Leo is still in South Korea. If you are interested in adopting Leo please go through our international adoption process. Leo is ready for his forever sweet home. Apply here https://lifeofhopefoundation.org/adoption-application/

Story
Oreo is such a sweet and special boy! It's heartwarming to hear about his journey and the love he deserves. With his shy personality, he definitely needs a nurturing and understanding home to help him flourish. Here’s a little summary for potential adopters: Meet Oreo: Your Future Furry Friend! Oreo is an 1 ½ -year-old, 14-pound wheat-colored Corgi - Terrier mix with a soft, wavy coat that's easy to maintain. Having been surrendered along with his brother Skittles, Oreo is now hoping to find his forever home after Skittles found his. Personality: Oreo is a shy but lovable pup who will need time to adjust to new surroundings. He thrives best in a calm environment, ideally with another friendly dog who can show him the ropes and help him feel secure. He loves snuggling up with other dogs, and having a canine companion would be perfect for him! Ideal Home: Because of Oreo’s shy demeanor, we recommend a home with adults or older teenagers. He may take his time warming up, but once he trusts you, you’ll see his sweet and gentle nature shine through. Training: Oreo is already a good listener when it comes to going potty outside, and he even knows how to use the doggie door! He will benefit from some leash training to help him build confidence. Health: Oreo is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, making him ready for adoption! If you think you can open your heart and home to this shy yet endearing boy, come meet Oreo and give him the chance he deserves. He's waiting patiently for someone to show him the love and patience he needs! Thank you for considering adopting Oreo! He's sure to bring so much joy and companionship to the right home. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5.
