This formally dressed chap is Dexter, a 7 years old Corgi/Cattledog mix who weighs about 45 pounds. Dexter knows all of his basics: Sit, stay, wait for food and wait before entering a room, and lay down. He is house and crate trained, and sleeps in his crate every night. Dexter is a nice guy with adults and older kids. He isn’t a fan of small kids, which is why he is looking for a new home. He would appreciate a home with older kids or just adults. Dexter loves a good game of fetch and can catch a ball in midair. He is a good traveler, as he is good in the car and good on leash. He does pull in the leash some, though. He loves car rides, camping, and swimming. Dexter’s ideal home is with an active person or couple who also thinks that he is all they need. He is best as an only dog in a home. For that person, he loves to cuddle. Belly rubs are a favorite, too. He is a great little guy who just needs the right home. Dexter is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Santa Clarita and is ready to meet adopters who can meet and adopt here. A home visit and vet reference are required.

All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, full sets of core vaccinations (rabies and 1 set of distemper/parvo for adults, 4 for puppies) and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc.

They were turned into the shelter as strays and we were able to get them out before they were put down due to lack of space at the shelter. The male, Digby, is a little shy around new people but loves other dogs. Like any good man, he follows Edith’s lead on how to act. Edith is Miss Confident. Ginger has been here for over a year. When she came in she was terrified of men due to obvious abuse. We have worked with her for some time and she is much better with men. It just takes her longer to trust men, of course, but once she does she is absolutely no problem. She is fearful of walking on the streets, as she likely kept locked up in a back yard all the time. She has turned into a wonderful and sweet dog after overcoming the abuse she previously suffered. She has amazing soulful eyes and is very happy and extremely affectionate. She will melt you heart. Liam came in as a stray at the San Pedro Harbor Shelter on 5/22. He was not claimed and only myself showed up on 5/30 at 11am when he became avl for adoption. He has seen a vet on 6/7 and has another appmt on 6/17. He needs a dental as he has peridontial disease and also had serious flea allergies. He is on ointment for his ears to clear up yeast infection and anttibiotic to help clear up the skin dermatitis which is already improved. He will not be avl for adoption until late Sept. when the vet can do a dental but you can meet in prior to that and complete a pre adopt ap. He is sweet natured and good with my small senior dogs. He will need some obedienc training as he pulls on a leash but he is crate trained and thusly being housetrained. He rides well in a car and takes treats gently in his mouth. He is a blue merle tricolor Pembroke. He was crossing an intersection in San Pedro when a good sam young lady rescued him and brought him into the San Pedro Harbor Shlter. He had no chip or ID and was not netuered and had the teeth and skin dermatitis issues shared in this narrative. Again he won't be avl until late Sept.
