Story
Meet Sheila, a tri-color, medium size, 1 year old, 28 pound Corgi mix with short legs. She's a puppy, filled with youthful energy, yet mellow enough to enjoy a good cuddle. Sheila is sweet, friendly, and curiously explores her surroundings. She's a gentle soul, brave when needed, and smart enough to impress with her quick learning. She can be a bit shy and fearful, and needs an experienced owner to work with her and earn her trust. She's not aggressive, but she is hard to catch and must have a fenced yard that is safe. Despite her shyness, Sheila is brave and smart, always ready to learn new things. She's very active and runs around the yard all day. Her loyalty is unwavering, and her cuddly, goofy nature is sure to win over your heart. Sheila deserves a forever home where she can continue to grow, learn, and love. Email us at Alphadogpetrescue@yahoo.com to request our adoption application. We have fully vetted her, spayed and chip..Adoption is $325. She is in foster care near RANCHO CUCAMONGO, CA.

Story
I was found as a stray and am about 2 years old. I love to go on walks and meet dogs and people. I am learning basic commands. I LOVE to rest on someone's lap, I also like to cuddle. Loud noises don't seem to faze me. Sometimes, I chase the cat, even though she tells me not to. I get excited when I am going to eat or go on a walk. Other than that, I'm pretty quiet. I like to be with people, I am working on building my confidence. I need to have access to a backyard, although because of my 10-pound size, it doesn't need to be a big one. I am crate trained. I have not destroyed anything. My current people keep me busy with toys, walks and lap naps. I get a lot of attention on walks because of my ear span. I have low pigment in my body ( see my pink nose?), so I need to take shorter trips into the Sun. I am monitored while outside most of the time because I do not want to be a coyote snack. I have been on many rides in the car. I get an allergy shot every 7 weeks or so. I am a lovebug!

HI - I'M CHESTER! And dogs don't get much cuter than me! In fact, I'm 45 lbs. of cuteness! I'm a shepherd/lab/who-knows-what mix with short little legs! So yes, I'm a shorty - hence the likely Corgi in me. I'm pretty much perfect. I smile a lot, I love other dogs, I'm affectionate and I'm great with kids! Whomever gets me will have joy in their life for many years to come. I was rescued from a scary shelter but it didn't get me down - I just rolled with it 'til I was bailed out of there. Now I'm ready for the next chapter - my forever home! Could you foster or adopt me? Please email for an application.

Story
Meet Bisom! She is the sweetest most adorable girll! She is a 2 year old that was rescued from a breeding farm before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horiffic puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Many restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Bisom  and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app February 18, 2025, 6:32 pm
