Story
Bonnie was part of a group of dogs in Tijuana Mexico who came in from a dog hoarding situation. The dogs were kept in crates 24/7 and never allowed out. They ate, drank, a defecated all in the same tiny cramped crate with no escape. Bonnie, Clyde, and Dennis were sent to us together. They were kept in crates the majority of the time so they are still learning socialization skills. They have blossomed so much since they have been here but we know with your help they can truly see how good life can get! They would do best in a home with no children and a secure yard and patient humans with big hearts!

Story
The rescue was contacted about Rhonda because she was a street dog who had a terrible skin infection on her rear leg. Her advocate had already started treating it but she really needed to be off the street in a clean environment for the treatment to be successful. It took about 2 months but we were finally able to get this skin infection to clear and the wounds that it caused to close completely! She is now ready for her forever home! She loves playing in the yard and lounging in the Sun for long naps. She is not a high-energy dog, she prefers to snuggle and hang out around the house. She is very sweet and absolutely loves getting attention and kisses!

Story
Meet Lizzie! This sweet, affectionate 3-year-old corgi mix is looking for her forever home. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands (though she can be a bit stubborn). Lizzie adores cuddling and would happily spend all day on your lap. She’s interested in cats and warms up to other dogs after about a week but is initially fearful. Lizzie loves walks but isn’t a fan of rainy days and needs a slow feeder to help her eat more slowly. She’s shy with new people and may bark at first but quickly warms up. Lizzie is not comfortable around young children, so she’s best suited for a kid-free home or one with children over 10. We love her deeply but are rehoming her to ensure she thrives in the right environment. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, Lizzie could be your perfect match. Contact us to meet Lizzie and give her the forever home she deserves!

Story
Meet Gisele. Gisele is a bit timid at first, but once she warms up to you, she craves your attention and affection. Gisele does well with other dogs of all sizes, cats, kittens, chickens, ducks and goats! This sweet girl is in a foster home, as she prefers a quieter, calmer environment, where she can shine and show her self off! If you are looking for a perfect cuddle buddy, that enjoys a quiet day at home, consider applying to meet Gisele today! Apply to adopt by clicking on the link below http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member. All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.  Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.  If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment.  530-895-8888 If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.    December 10, 2024, 4:49 pm
