Story
Sup! I'm Nelson. I'm a 10 year old dog, but I don't act like it. I still have lots of energy to burn and love to jump up in laps and sniff around outside on my walks! I LOVE attention and need it all the time, which makes it difficult to share, so I want to be the only pet in the household. Ask staff to come meet me if you're interested! I love meeting new people  Interested in adopting? Visit our shelter during open hours and ask about Nelson A001526October 29, 2024, 3:56 pm

Story
Bonnie was part of a group of dogs in Tijuana Mexico who came in from a dog hoarding situation. The dogs were kept in crates 24/7 and never allowed out. They ate, drank, a defecated all in the same tiny cramped crate with no escape. Bonnie, Clyde, and Dennis were sent to us together. They were kept in crates the majority of the time so they are still learning socialization skills. They have blossomed so much since they have been here but we know with your help they can truly see how good life can get! They would do best in a home with no children and a secure yard and patient humans with big hearts!

Story
The rescue was contacted about Rhonda because she was a street dog who had a terrible skin infection on her rear leg. Her advocate had already started treating it but she really needed to be off the street in a clean environment for the treatment to be successful. It took about 2 months but we were finally able to get this skin infection to clear and the wounds that it caused to close completely! She is now ready for her forever home! She loves playing in the yard and lounging in the Sun for long naps. She is not a high-energy dog, she prefers to snuggle and hang out around the house. She is very sweet and absolutely loves getting attention and kisses!

Story
Oreo is such a sweet and special boy! It's heartwarming to hear about his journey and the love he deserves. With his shy personality, he definitely needs a nurturing and understanding home to help him flourish. Here’s a little summary for potential adopters: Meet Oreo: Your Future Furry Friend! Oreo is an 1 ½ -year-old, 14-pound wheat-colored Corgi - Terrier mix with a soft, wavy coat that's easy to maintain. Having been surrendered along with his brother Skittles, Oreo is now hoping to find his forever home after Skittles found his. Personality: Oreo is a shy but lovable pup who will need time to adjust to new surroundings. He thrives best in a calm environment, ideally with another friendly dog who can show him the ropes and help him feel secure. He loves snuggling up with other dogs, and having a canine companion would be perfect for him! Ideal Home: Because of Oreo’s shy demeanor, we recommend a home with adults or older teenagers. He may take his time warming up, but once he trusts you, you’ll see his sweet and gentle nature shine through. Training: Oreo is already a good listener when it comes to going potty outside, and he even knows how to use the doggie door! He will benefit from some leash training to help him build confidence. Health: Oreo is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, making him ready for adoption! If you think you can open your heart and home to this shy yet endearing boy, come meet Oreo and give him the chance he deserves. He's waiting patiently for someone to show him the love and patience he needs! Thank you for considering adopting Oreo! He's sure to bring so much joy and companionship to the right home. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5.
