Story
Charlie and Gidget are still looking for their forever home together after being with us over a year! Sadly their owner passed away and there is no family that can care for them. Charlie is 12 years old, neutered and weighs 11 lbs. He is believed to be a Pembroke/Chihuahua mix. He is the sweetest little cuddle bug. He is a happy, sensitive, lap loving boy. All he wants is your love, affection, to hang out with Gidget and eat doggie treats. He enjoys playing with his soft toys and keeping them gathered in a tidy pile. Gidget is a 9 ½ year old terrier mix, spayed and weighs in at a tiny 7.5 lbs. Gidget is missing her right front leg due to an accident when she was only a few weeks old. She gets around very well and can climb stairs and slopes just fine, but needs assistance going down some staircases and on steep downhill slopes as it is hard on her back. She will also need assistance to climb up into your lap or sit beside you, which are her happiest spots. She is curious, peppy, lovable and charming. One more thing, when Gidget looks in the mirror she sees a Great Dane! Charlie and Gidget are cuddle buddies and are inseparable. They are both lap dogs and don’t mind sharing a single lap. They eat together, play together, sleep together and they must stay together as a bonded pair. They are both housetrained and will let you know when they need to go out. They are also trained to go on pee pads. They get along well with other small gentle dogs but neither of them has ever met a cat. They both enjoy short walks. Charlie keeps a watchful eye on Gidget and will not go back inside the house without her. They love their doggie beds and fuzzy blankets and lie in them wherever you place them as long as they are together. They will alert you of potential danger with a couple barks but will quiet instantly with a gentle hush. These pups merrily greet you when you come home and will be the perfect companions to someone who needs them as much as they need you. If you can open your heart and home to these 2 sweet seniors please fill out our MHS K9 Adoption Application on our website. mountainshumanesociety.org

Story
Who doesn’t love short legged dogs and wiggly butts! 😍 We are guessing Chloe is a lab/corgi mix around 3 years old and weighs in at a nice 44 lbs. She is good with other dogs. We are not sure about cats. Chloe is a happy girl, shy at first but cries if you leave her. She gets really happy when her foster parents come home that her butt does the wiggles. She loves playing with her tennis balls and her foster siblings collars. She is having a hard time going potty outside so will need someone patient to work with her. She is very motivated with food so will eat any food you left on the table if you're not careful. She is easy to shower and won't complain, she loves sleeping on the bed or her own little bed. If she has a fur sibling she will most likely cuddle with them. When Chloe was first in boarding when she was found, she had a couple of seizures. She has been on medication which has been working and is being monitored. The vet does not know yet why she had those seizures, but we think it may have been from oral flea medication. If you can open your home up to foster Chloe or are interested in making her a part of your family please fill out either our foster application or adoption application.

Story
Hope was originally abandoned in a field where she lived for 3 months on her own! When she was finally rescued, she didn't know who to trust and was very skittish. Even though she was scared, she was the sweetest dog, never showing any aggression whatsoever. After a few weeks, she relaxed and we got to see her more playful side. She now enjoys playing with other dogs and loves to chew her bone. She will need some time to adjust to a new home but, once she does, she will bond deeply and be your best friend. She will follow you around and cuddle with you for hours! She does enjoy playing, but is pretty mellow overall and spends most of her day cuddling. Hope is very submissive and will likely always be a little sensitive. She always wants to please and, if she happens to do something she shouldn't, we only need to say a soft 'no' and she will run over to apologize, offering kisses and hugs. Hope has lived with kids and cats and does well with both! She is housebroken and crate trained. She will sometimes shut down on a leash, but we are working on building her confidence. She is learning and is very smart! She also loves food and would do well with positive reinforcement and treats. Hope is good in a car, but will get car sick if it's not a short trip. She has a little separation anxiety and would prefer a home where her owners are home often and a dog buddy so she is never completely alone. Hope is a 35lb, 1-2 year old Corgi/Shepherd mix. She is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated so she is ready to go home with you immediately! If you're interested in meeting Hope, please submit an adoption application on our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.orgDecember 28, 2024, 11:46 pm

Story
Meet our precious little hero Butterscotch. She is a Riverside Shelter survivor who was in danger for euthanasia due to having a seizure disorder. Butterscotch is a 1 year old Papillion/Corgi Mix and weighs about 12 lbs She’s a sweet girl with a beautiful smile and a beautiful spirit. She’s resilient and strong. We had her visit our vet for a thorough exam and testing. Good news is, they say there is a great possibility that she will grow out of her seizures (no guarantees). For the meantime, she has started treatment and they have been effective. She loves toys, she a social butterfly, she’s dog and cat friendly, she loves her walks, and enjoys time at the beach. She’s a happy girl with a beautiful spirit. She will bring her new family lots of love and joy. We are excited to help her find her new forever family.
