This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2199358##

Story
Puck started her journey on the street born to a feral mother in Florida. She was adopted by my mom, but due to her declining health, we made the decision to move Puck to our home in Washington state. This was nearly 3 years ago. We are experienced dog owners and trainers, but we were never able to train Puck effectively. Her recall is inconsistent, won't use the dog door and is often on guard inside and will shy away from contact . When outside, she is a different dog. The tail comes up, she is happy and does dog things. Our reason for rehoming is she barks at our adult son EVERY time she sees him. She has never barked at anyone else. I spoke to professionals about her situation and concluded that she is probably multi-generational feral. It will take a few months to get through to her. She is very gentle with all animals and kids. She is calm, low-key and enjoys curling up on the couch for a nap. The lump on her hip is benign and does not cause her any pain. It's OK to leave as is.
