He adores everyone he meets, two legged and four legged. He could do well in a socially active home! He greets everyone he meets with kisses, and he’s exceptionally sweet with kids. With other dogs, Buck is both a total sweetheart and a the life of the party. He enjoys the company of dogs of all shapes and sizes, he likes to play chase and “keep away” with toys. Buck shares affection well with other dogs, and is affectionate with other dogs. He’s such a dreamy boy! Buck is easy on leash, and knows some basic commands. He’s shown us nothing but intelligence and trainability! He will work for treats and takes treats so gently, making further training easy and enjoyable for both of you. During walks and playtime, Buck checks in with his humans, making eye contact and stopping for a pet or two! Here at the rescue, Buck did not have any accidents indoors, and showed great house manners. Buck is also an outdoorsy type, he loves playing with sticks, and romping through the grass. First things first, how cute is little miss Glitter?! When you look at her pictures, she honestly looks like a big dog but when I first met her I was pleasantly surprised. Glitter is so TINY! It's hard to capture in pictures how tiny she really is. From the very first moment that I met Glitter she was so sweet and gentle. She absolutely adores people and is such a cuddle bug and is so tolerant. She let me pick her up, touch her toes, adjust her collar, and was very tolerant of me trying to adjust her body multiple times to get her glamour shots. Glitter has this sweetness about her that makes you just fall for her instantly. Not only is she sweet, but she's a little sassy firecracker too! You can just see it in her video, the way she struts her stuff like she knows she's all that. That's probably my favorite thing about her. Her personalty! Fall in love with Glitter here: We think Glitter is a Carolina Dog, a Yellow Lab mix of some sort. Glitter is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. We estimate her age to be around 2 years old, and she currently weighs in at a snuggly 33 pounds. Glitter is always happy to see you. She’s a people’s dog, friendly with everyone she meets, very loving, and she loves her person! Glitter will be you little shadow, partner in crime, passenger princess, and ride or die. It's not hard to make a bond with Glitter. She immediately falls in love with a person and is so loyal to them. She knows no stranger and will go up to random strangers (including men) and either give them kisses or give them gentle hugs. She's a snuggly gal who loves bear hugs and her dream place is in bed under the covers snuggling the day away. Yes, she's snuggly and has a calm side to her but she is an active girly at heart. But not overly so. She's loves running around in the yard playing with toys, zooming, bouncing and all of the fun back yard things. With an experienced handler, Glitter is very easy to walk on a leash with and hardly ever pulls. She will pull occasionally or stop to look at a squirrel or other dogs and will need a few corrections and encouragement with treats to regain her focus to continue on her walk. We would love to see Glitter not in an apartment but in a home with a semi-active family that has a backyard and will take her on daily walks, play with her in the backyard, take her on adventures and then snuggle the rest of the day. Glitter is kid friendly as well and will do best with kids 10+ and up. She can be mouthy at times when you get her really excited but it is very gentle. For the most part, you'll find her trying to sneak into your kids bed at night for snuggles. Glitter is dog friendly and loves to play! Glitter does well with dogs of all sizes, and is small dog friendly! Emphasis on the small dogs! Her love for small dogs was something none of us ever expected. She met Mateo our small dog tester here at the rescue who is approximately 11 lbs and she was in love, she met her best friend that day. Mateo was in love as well and was so comfortable with her. Mateo has been our small dog tester for years and when he is uncomfortable around a dog or if he feels like he is not safe around a dog he will just lay there and pretend like he doesn't exist making himself invisible and that was not the case with Glitter. After about 5 min, he was extremely comfortable with her, playing her, giving her kisses, sharing affection, and rough housing with her. We loved watching how gentle she was when playing with him and how happy she was around him. She found her comfort and her true self around a small dog. It was a match made in heaven, Glitter is a small dogs dog! So if you have a small dog and you want them to have a friend, Glitter is your gal! She has an enthusiastic play style that always brings the party to the play-yard and loves a good wrestle. She would do best in a home with another dog that can match her play style and one that knows when to take breaks in between. She could do well in a multi-dog home, but could also thrive as a solo dog, soaking up all of your affection. She does however manage to make herself as small as she can when she’s curled up next to you on the couch for snuggles. She doesn’t even take up a whole couch cushion. Greta is a big fan of cuddle sessions, so after her walk around the neighborhood or even the park, a quick game of playing with toys, she’ll snuggle right up next to you for a relaxing rest of the evening. Greta does prefer a calmer quieter household, she can get overwhelmed and get nervous with too much commotion in a household and will do best in a home with no kids. She loves adventures, being your best mate and will be happy as long as she is with her person. So if you’re looking for a best friend to take with you on hikes, enjoy the outdoors and then join you in a nice relaxing evening at the house, Greta Dawn is the perfect bestie for you. Greta has a silly side to her too and she knows exactly how to keep you entertained and keep her self entertained. She does the cutest little zoomies in the backyard and will do best in a home with a yard so she can do those cute zoomies. Greta is dog friendly and carefully chooses who she allows to keep her company but thrives with laid-back and relaxed dogs that match her energy. She gets overwhelmed with large groups of energetic dogs and prefers to meet other pups individually. It takes her a little time to get comfortable before engaging in play. Greta is much more attached to humans than other dogs but could live peacefully in a home with a laid-back dog if she has a yard to roam and roll in! Here’s a bonus, Greta is very cat friendly and used to live with two cats in her previous foster home and mostly just ignored them. She would occasionally join in on a game of chase with them if they ran but always in the name of fun. She would do best with dog-savvy cats if she has any cat-siblings. Not only does Greta already have so much going for her, she is also incredibly smart! This girly is crate trained, potty trained and she knows a few basic commands (“sit,” “touch,” “leave-it,” and “no”). She is food motivated, listens really well, and aims to please, so she is going to be very easy to train. Greta is gentle lead trained as well which is simply just a type of leash that helps her walk like an angel out in public and feel more secure. She can be a bit of a shy girl and can be a little wary of new people approaching her on walks or in the home. She does incredibly well in those situations when her person takes the lead, puts her into a sit position, sets her up for success and gives her the space when she needs it. She is just so incredibly sweet and sensitive and wants to be loved and cared for more than anything in the world. This girl is truly something special and is going to make her new family so happy. MEET BAGEL🥯 Bagel is 2 year old and is a total love bug. He is a blend of American Staffy Terrier and Carolina Dog. He is about 95 lbs but doesn’t understand his size when he wants to sit on your lap. He is partially blind from head trauma he had as a puppy. This does not stop him in any way, and you wouldn’t notice it in his every day life, unless you move a piece of furniture. He loves the outdoors and spending as much time as he can out there with his person or his dog friends. He is learning to come back when called. He sits to go outside, to get his food, and to come out of his kennel. He has potty trained. He sleeps on his bed with a blanket at night and loves to be as close to his Hooman as he can be. Unfortunately, due to his head trauma as a young puppy, he has some reactionary behaviors. He has excitatory peeing when he’s meeting somebody new or extremely excited. But he wears a male wrap just fine. He is also unable to get himself up on the bed or in vehicles without assist. He has some food aggression, but does good when he is put into his secure spot to eat. He currently lives with four other female dogs, and is best pals with one of them. And loves to play! The others he does display some herding, bullying, and has been aggressive with another one over toys. He lives with a cat who he is too curious about, so a home with no cats would be best. We feel the best home for Bagel would be one with either a male dog, or perhaps an alpha female. He does like to play with a male dog that comes over to visit and they get along great! He also gets along with the alpha female in the house really well. He will need training to work on the food, aggression and some manners.
