WHY IS THIS DOG IN NEED??- This Girl has found herself with no home as her owner is going into a nursing home and no family is wanting her.
WHERE IS THIS DOG NOW ?- SHe needs Foster
**ALL ABOUT CAMI **
Here is some info about her :
A foster spotted this intact gal on classifieds today.
Her owner is in hospital awaiting going in to a nursing home.
She was living in the home with another dog, and cat - all of which are now rehomed.
People were going in to feed them over the last two months.
She isn't fixed or vaccinated, and needs a groom, all of which we are going to try to arrange in the morning.
She is described as a sheltie x, foster says mid sized about 45 lbs as a guess.
Good with other dogs, cats, cratetrained, good in the vehicle.
Described as a loyal girl and very gentle and sweet with an excellent temperament.
Loves toys.
Snuggled with foster on couch tonight.
"Super gentle in the house."
Knows Sit, down, stay.
Info to come from Groomer:
She is a sweetheart! She needs some time to warm up to new people though. She backed away from me at first but about 30mins later she was on her back for a belly rub lol She's a little picky about her head...didn't like the top of the head pet or the water near her head for bath but she was co-operative after voicing her displeasure for a moment ;-) Gets along fine with my dogs and the kids, although she did prefer my daughter who's a little calmer than my boys!
She is anxious right now, who can blame her with all the changes, panting and pacing the house. That's to be expected and I don't think it will take more than a couple days in the same place for her to settle in. She loves her belly rubbed and loved a small squeaky green ball that I had in the toy bin so I will send it with her. She knows sit and seems to know stay/wait when exiting a door or the car. I think she will be a great pet for anyone :-) Oh, and she loves treats! :-)
Info from temp foster :
Home rules: Listens well when told no or leave it. Likes to follow me around and be near me in the house
People and Personality:reserved at first but once warmed up very playful. Loves squeaky balls! Sweet, takes treats very gently.
Energy:Medium-low energy from what I've seen
Dogs and Cats:Good with dogs, indifferent towards my cat (but he is very dog savvy)
House training/ House Rules: seems to be house trained. Scratches at back door to go out
Food/ Toys:ate treats with my dogs with no issue (didn't feed her a meal here), likes squeaky balls
Travleing:Very good in the car, likes to put head out window
Training- leash manners- commands- recall : knows sit, came when I called, seems to know stay/wait when exiting doors/car
Crating :Went into crate fine after bath. Whined a little but nothing excessive
Grooming:Good for grooming but didn't like water around head. Nails were done during spay
Yard Rules:Good in my 5ft fenced yard. Comes in when called
The best home to meet all her needs is : I imagine she would do good in a lot of homes but would probably prefer a calmer one with well behaved children
Update from 1st night/ day:
Hey! She is doing well, ate her breakfast and slept well in her crate all night. Didn't make a sound. She's very smart, good manners. She likes to follow us around the house and definitely likes to snuggle on the couch. We are trying to keep her activity down until her incision is healed a little more, but she loves fetch. She does try to lick at her leg where the IV was and I catch her licking at her incision but responds to "leave it". She is smart though and will go where you can't see her and try to get away with it. She's currently sitting at my feet while I do some homework :)
*** HOW IT WORKS - ADOPTION INFORMATION ****

(that is a fraction of actual REDUCED VETTING expenses incurred) then you should reconsider adopting.
These animals deserve forever homes, good food, regular vet care, and emergency care as needed.
Pets should never be euthanized by their owners simply based on financial consideration when something goes wrong.
