Story
Darling Davey is a precious boy. He is a 4 year old, 19 pound, gold and grey, Australian Silky/ Yorkie mix. He sounds like such a sweet boy with a heartwarming story! It's wonderful to hear that he has been rescued and is now looking for his forever home. His gentle nature and treat motivation will surely make him a loving companion for the right family. It sounds like he would thrive best in a calm environment where he can feel safe and secure, especially given his background. Finding a patient owner who can give him time to adjust and show him love and affection is crucial. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Davey, they should be prepared to provide the regular grooming he needs due to his mixed coat. A home with another small dog would likely help him acclimate and feel more comfortable as he learns to navigate his new environment. Overall, it seems like Davey has so much love to give, and he truly deserves a warm and caring home. He seems to be house trained; he does great on the routine at the sanctuary. He will use the doggie door and go in and out at will and is leash trained . He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Let's help find him the perfect match! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. Story
This is Charley who is a year old, and 12 lbs of happy energy and fun. He is very playful and loves to play with other dogs. He’s also very smart (more on that in a minute) and ridiculously cute! Charley walks well on leash, rides well in the car, and is very sweet, loving, and healthy. He’s a bit standoffish and hand-shy at first, but once he gets to know you and trust you, he is a cuddly, loving, and affectionate dog. He’s also housetrained – he quickly learned how to use the dog door in his foster home and goes right over to his potty area. Another plus is his wirey coat which is low maintenance for grooming. He's very curious and likes to explore absolutely everything; sometimes I think he’s a cat – he’ll jump up on the back of the couch so he can see all around. He also figured out how to jump onto his crate, and then spring onto other things (I told you he was smart!). Charley’s still a pup and will obviously need some training in household manners. But he’s very food-motivated so training should be easy. One thing you should know is that Charley has had Parvo. He got really sick, but his will to live was stronger than the virus and thankfully he got better. He is totally recovered, and now has natural immunity. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Charley, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" which will take you to our online application form.
