Story
Meet Bob Tail Bear! He is an adorable 10 -12-week-old puppy, and we think he may be an Australian Shepherd / Lab mix; his cute little nub tail gives him some Aussie Character! Watch Bob Tail's video here: Bob Tail Bear is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. He loves to play and then take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat - such is puppy life! He loves to play with toys and the bigger dogs in his foster home. He even tries to play with the cranky cat! Bob Tail Bear is still young, so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization, and all the dedication puppyhood requires. His new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect for going on walks and hikes or showing off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/675b435ebb4a8292f308c868 Please email michelleboswell@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $900.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. Story
Where do I even begin with this boy? He somehow has both young sweetness with calm mature presence, a gorgeous soft coat that belongs in a commercial, and the most snuggly shape ever! Hilo is estimated to be 5 years old and weighs 46 lbs. In rescue, age and breed are details we cannot guarantee but from observation Hilo is likely an Australian Shepherd/ Border Collie. If border collie makes you think he is energetic and busy, let me be clear, he is not. Hilo is a house boy who enjoys walks, car-rides, and chew bones. Hilo is fortunate to be fostered in a loving home where he has showed off how well prepared he is for his future family. First, he is fully house and crate trained and has not had one accident in her home thanks to his quick learning of how a doggie-door works. When it is time to go to bed, Hilo can be found in his crate where he is peaceful and quiet through the night. His foster shared he is great if left free roaming during the day while they are out, never chewing things that are not his or causing any mischief. He is occasionally crated during the day as well and is quiet and settles in easily. Hilo also lives with two cats and a senior dog, and he has been respectful of both, understanding that the cats are not interested in him, though he does still try, and that the senior dog likes to sleep. Although he gets along well with dogs, Hilo would be perfectly happy as an only dog. In addition to his foster mate, Hilo was introduced to a handful of new dogs, varying sizes and energy levels and he was polite but did not show us a bouncy playful side. He is built for companionship over chase. If matchmaking him to your current dog(s) he is best suited for an equally chill dog with a side of playfulness. Hilo has lived with kids ages 8-14 and he is perfectly suited for that age and up. As they would put it- “he likes to just hang out.” Hilo enjoys spending time out in the back yard and will happily entertain himself with a bone or take a little cat nap in the grass. When it comes time for walks or car rides Hilo really perks up and he is great at both so you will be happy to say “Let’s go Hilo!” The day that we met Hilo it was amazing to see people in the office go out of their way to come say hi to Hilo and pet him. He is really a cutie, the gorgeous fur and fun size make him a bit of a magnet for attention, and although he isn’t going out of his way to meet strangers he doesn’t mind the attention but also doesn’t need it. Hilo is ready and available now, complete with the deluxe starter kit of skills. Lucky you! If you are ready-fill out an application today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67c0a72ef6421e703502dfa5 Questions? Email kathleen@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2-acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs' adoption ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs, and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
Y’all heard it straight from our trainer’s mouth…Ella Enchanted is one of the best dog’s he has seen in a long time and someone better scoop her up! Trust us when we say, he doesn’t say that often. She can fit into any pack of dogs, she has a calmer demeanor, very dog friendly, loves the water, enjoys playing with toys, and loves people! If you have a “check list” of what you are looking for in a dog, Ella is going to check off every single one. Watch her video and see for yourself how amazing and perfect she is: https://youtu.be/5Gnk-r2nmJ0?si=A--rkVdbP7wiCqJf Ella Enchanted is a Aussie/lab mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 41 lbs. She is the perfect size, not too big, not too small, just the right size. Not only is she the perfect medium size, but have you taken a look at her eyes?! Ella has some of the most captivating eyes we have probably ever seen. It's no wonder her name has "enchanted" in it because her eyes will leave you enchanted. Ella is very dog friendly and there hasn't been a dog that she has met that does not like her. She is SO good that she is even used and an assessment dog at the rescue. Which essentially means she is one of the very first dogs that greets a dog that we know nothing about to help us learn more about the dog coming into our program. She is incredibly respectful and patient with all different types of play styles, tolerant with even the pushiest of dogs, and is a calming comforting presence for even the shyest of dogs. She shares food, toys, and affection so gracefully too. Ella is not overly playful with other dogs, she is more of the hangout and enjoy the nice weather type of girly. When Ella does play, she has a gentle and bouncy play style and from what we have seen, she seems to enjoy playtime with young aloof playful dogs. If you don't have other dogs, that's totally fine! Ella does not need the company of another dog to help her feel comfortable and open up. She is a happy and sweet little lady all on her own and we're sure she wouldn't mind being the center of your world. Ella has also shown that she is comfortable around kitty friends. She met our house cat Biggie and she was so good around him and even shared playtime with him. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home with a cat before, nor can we guarantee things won't change once in a home. We do believe that with slow and proper introductions Ella has the potential to live harmoniously in a home with cats. When it comes to training, Ella is a smart girly and treat motivated. She already knows some basic commands such as sit, is easy to walk on a leash, and she is crate and potty trained. Any future additional training you want to do with Ella will be so easy with her. Not only is eager to please and easy to love, but Ella is fetch superstar and loves to play with toys. She has the best time playing fetch with her people out in the backyard and loves shaking around those stuffy toys. She would be a great companion to have around if you work from home because she is quiet and will entertain herself with toys or snuggle up on the couch and snooze while you get your work done. She would also be a great little adventure buddy as well. She loves to explore and loves the water! So if you like to go explore the trails, take trips to the beach, or even enjoy camping, Ella will be the best pup to keep you company. Due to Ella's easy and adaptable demeanor, there are a lot of different home environments that she would do great in. We can see her living in a home with a backyard and a pool (a kiddie pool will do just fine too), a condo, or even an apartment with adequate exercise. She is naturally a calmer girl so a walk around the neighborhood, or a quick game of fetch will be just fine to keep her happy and healthy. We have not yet seen Ella's with kids yet and we can absolutely test that for you with any age, but we do believe she would make a great family dog. She is so sweet, loving, and gentle that we are pretty certain she will extend that same approach to children. We are willing to test Ella Enchanted with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Meet River (or Kai), an 8-year-old, 65 lb bundle of joy who’s ready to find his next adventure buddy! Whether it's hiking in the great outdoors or simply curling up by your side for some relaxation, River is always up for whatever you have in mind. He’s in perfect health—microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and neutered—making him a great addition to any home. Although River enjoys spending time with people and is a fantastic travel buddy, he prefers being the only pet in the house. He’s not a fan of other dogs or cats, but his big heart and loyal nature make him the perfect companion for an adult-only home or a family with kids over 10. River is gentle with children, though he may sometimes get a bit territorial when it comes to his humans. A lover of fetch and good times with his best friends, River is the kind of dog who’s always ready to play and show his love. His loyal, dependable nature means you’ll always have a friend by your side who truly loves you. Hey everyone, I’m looking for a new home for my dog, Lanikai (Kai), as I prepare to leave WA state and I’m not able to take him with me. This is a tough decision, but I want to make sure he finds a family that can give him the time and attention he deserves. He was a rescue dog from the Alternative Humane Society. About Kai: • Breed: mixed (lab/shepherd/border collie) • Size: 65 pounds • Age: 8 years old • Personality: He’s a sweet, loyal dog who loves playing fetch. He does need some additional leash training. He is house broken. • Ideal Home: Someone who can provide him with love, stability, and plenty of attention. A fenced yard would be great but not required. He gets along well with submissive dogs since he is more dominant. He is not good with small children since he gets territorial and anxious when they are loud and running around.
