Story
BLUE - 7 years old, 70 pounds, house trained; home with older kids, only dog, no cats. *After being with his family his whole life, Blue is now sitting in a shelter because that family could no longer care for his needs.  *He is reactive from behind the cage bars but once he actually meets you outside of the cage, he is a friendly and nice boy.  *He is already house trained and used to walking on a leash.  *He isn't used to a lot of handling so it might take time for him to trust you but once that bond has been created, you are good to go!  *Blue can be trusted roaming free in a home and he would be a nice companion to take on car rides and vacations. *Blue is said to be good with other dogs but he would be best as the only dog in a home. *Blue is currently in our large dog adoption kennel so come in to meet him!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 26, 2025, 1:55 pm

Brodie is an amazing dog but with my busy schedule and another dog to look after, I sadly cannot care for both of them as well as I anticipated when I first picked up Brodie. He's still young at 7 months and learning commands but he is potty trained and great with other pets and people.

Story
Lora Lee is a very sweet dog that is just 2 years old and weighs 42 pounds.  She is said to be an Aussie mix with some Terrier.  Whatever the mix is we think she is a most unusual and truly a beautiful girl who well with other dogs in her foster home.  She is a friend to all and apparently she is house trained as long as taken out regular. Lola Lee is crate trained but cannot be left for long hours in the crate.  She is not leash trained  but is trying to improve.   We are requesting that applicants have a fenced yard for her because she is an active girl that needs to run and play with freedom and not at the end of a leash only. This beauty loves to cuddle and be by your side like your BFF and shadow. If you have another dog that would be great for her to have a playmate that can help her wear out her energy every day.  Lola Lee is a great girl and she is going to need an active family that can challenge and meet her need for exercise and be able to keep up with her.   She is really not a dog for a retirement couple that are ready to have a more laidback dog with fewer exercise demands.  If you are interested in this girl please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.December 30, 2024, 2:10 pm

Story
Meet Alice, our darling brown and white girl that has the most memorable face and sky high ears you have ever seen.   This girl was born around the middle of May and is thought to be combination of lots of breed influences.   For starters we think that Cattle Dog and Aussie might be a mixture that are dominant for her.  She is one smart little girl that adorable her foster family and all the other big dogs (several German Shepherds are her mentors and big sisters) and many foster cats are present as well in the home.  Her boundless happy puppy energy catapults her through the days as she grows in to a true beauty inside and out.  She is so playful and loving and always ready for the next BIG ADVENTURE!  She loves to chase toys and explore the backyard for new things to do and maybe a few squirrels to make friends with.  She absorbs whatever you teach her like a sponge.  Her foster mom is an excellent trainer and knows the importance of teaching manners and commands.  Her friendly nature makes her easy to meet new people and she is does not shy away from new experiences either.  She is a snuggler when she is tired and very loving as she sits beside you to watch a good TV show.  This girl will be an excellent recall pup since she is learning that now and is so eager to please and be with her humans.  If you are interested in this beauty who will grow to be a 45-50 pound girl, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Let us know where you live: city and state when you are inquiring. Story
This beautiful girl is called Kenzie, and she is from what we can tell,  a husky/ Australian Shepherd mix that defies definition in character and charm and intelligence. This girl is approximately 4-5 months old.And weighs twenty eight pounds. Her story is not uncommon in the south, but it definitely was one of abuse or more accurately qualified as neglect.  She was located in a very small pin that was outside with very little cover. No straw low temperatures and food thrown on the ground without a bowl and frozen water in the water bucket her owner was actually homeless and not even in the area due to illness.   We expected a very emotionally damaged girl as well as physically harmed, but that was not the case.   Our girl Kinsey is a survivor and a brilliant puppy. Full of life and resilience and confidence.  She adores other dogs young children comma is fine with cats.If that is what she needs to live with.  She has beautiful eyes that are the color of blue in one and brown in the other.  Her charming personality is bold happy and full of smiles an energy.  She embraces life with the full expectancy that she will give good and good will come back to her.And that is what we have promised her at critter cavalry rescue. We will not settle for anything but the best. And our hope is that she will have a home filled with laughter and activities thar also include a homd with a fenced yard, and long walks or jogs, along with excursions in the car that the best of great outdoor events. Kinsey is a dog that will make you live with a big soul and a ready expectation to good things to happen in your life.  She brings great karma to all who meet her.   If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained and undeniable beauty, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. DollarMax and he has meant the world to the man who found him in a rural county in tennessee.  This boy was found as a young pup and is currently ten months old and seventy one pounds and thought to be an Aussie/Collie mix. he has been a faithful companion to the wonderful couple that found him and have raised him to this. Young point in his life.  Now, the senior couple have found themselves facing stage 4 cancer, and the wife has alzheimer. Their 2 dogs must find a new home immediately. due to the rapid deterioration of the husband and his cancer.  These dogs have been loved and Max could not have been raised by better people.   Critter Cavalry  would love to offer Max to a wonderful family that can give him a fenced yard to run in and also love and guidance for the many, many years that lays ahead of him.  He is housebroken and he is dog friendly, but we don't know about being crate trained.   We are sure that could be done easily enough.  We are looking for a wonderful home that will embrace this 10 month old,  71 pound boy that has so much love and beauty to give a family. Story
Hi, everyone. My name is Special Stella, and I am a beloved, fun, well-trained 5 year old Yellow Lab/Aussie mix girl that is only 50 pounds and who is looking for a new home without young children.  I have been with my young couple, mom and dad.For the past four years, and I have been very happy and loved. And during that time, it was discovered that young energetic children made me nervous.   Now my mom and dad are having a baby and they say it would be best if I went to a home with no young young children and yeah, would be best.If I was the only dog unless I lived with a submissive male, that would not challenge me to be the top dog.   I have lived with a cat and my only bad habit is I love cat food. I am housebroken and crate, trained and leash trained, and I know commands. And I am a very good girl. That will be your buddy, rick riding around town and your suv or a pickup truck or going out on the lake in the boat for the summer months.  I'm really a good girl, but I just have 2 things that I probably do. Don't meet in my life and that is a dominant dog around me and young children. That are you being what god made them to be,  young, energetic and loud and sometimes a little too quick to make movements that make me nervous.   We are all heartbroken that I have to find a new home. Critter Cavalry promised my Dad, who originally adopted me just to be his buddy before he got married, that they would help me find the perfect place for me to live out the next ten years or more of my life.   I promise to be the best companion you've ever had.   Please consider me to come and live with you and watch TV. At your feet or go for hikes. In the woods or just take naps in the afternoon on a lazy Winter day.  I am fully vetted and microchipped and come with great dog manners and very few bad habits. Unless you have a cat and I try to eat their food.  Please consider me and write to Critter.Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  Tell them where you live: city and state.   They are based in Tennessee and not only adoot to Tennessee, but also transport to the Northeast.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 27, 2025, 10:05 pm

Story
Meet Bleu! Bleu is a very sweet and wild girl who takes some time getting use to you, but once she does she will be your built in bestie. Bleu loves to play with her canine roommate but will ask to meet any canines currently residing in the home. Bleu does have some stranger danger and may take a couple visits to warm up to you as it took her some time to get warmed up to us here in the kennel, and we will ask that everyone living in the household come in to visit prior to her going home. Bleu also asks any children in the home be 6 and older as she will need some time to acclimate in the home small children may not be the best thing for her. If you would like to meet with her, please speak to a kennel technician today.

Story
In Norfolk - Meet Saint! This 2 year old, blue-eyed, handsome boy found himself in a Louisiana shelter after being seized from a cruelty case in November 2023. Set to be euthanized, ASF rescued him in his final hour! ASF also learned that poor Saint had heartworms and had to be treated for several months, which consisted of restricted activity and crate rest. He is a solid, healthy & happy boy despite having a very rough start to life. Saint likes to play fetch and chase, but he's more on the medium energy level. He is leash reactive with dogs and squirrels and pulls on the leash (and he's strong!), but we're working on that daily. He's had several foster siblings, so he'd love a home with another dog for company. He is crate trained, but doesn't need it or like it. He isn't destructive or naughty when left free in the house. He will sleep in a dog bed or next to your bed at night. He doesn't guard his food or humans and shows zero signs of aggression. He loves to be right next to (touching) his people, on the sofa or in the bed. He is very affectionate and is quickly comfortable with people. He's actually a warm, snuggle machine. Saint's foster family is working on car rides because he gets very anxious, whining and barking for the first 10 minutes or so in the car. He has an Rx for anxiety if he's going to be in the car for a longer drive or around a lot of people. He's obedient, intelligent, and eager to please. He learned how to use the doggie door in about 30 minutes and will come inside from a knock on the window or a whistle. He gets a bath, nails trimmed, and teeth brushed without issues! He knows several commands like "sit", "wait", and "down." We're also working on better front door etiquette. He has a deep, intimidating bark for such a sweet boy. Older kids would probably be best for him because he doesn't realize his own strength. His prey drive is pretty strong, so no cats or small animals. Saint can jump chain link fences. Modifications will need to be made if his new family has this type of fence. Saint is looking for a loving and patient home to provide a new life full of love and cuddles. Saint is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He's being fostered in Norfolk, Virginia. If Saint sounds perfect for your family, please fill out the application. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.
