Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Fairfax, VA Gus is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 40 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Gus is nervous around strangers! No children or dogs, due to his reactivity! He hasn’t been tested around cats. Several years ago, Gus escaped from the yard while someone else was watching him. A stranger found him and went to grab his collar, which caused Gus to bite the stranger. Gus is currently on gabapentin, clonidine, and Sertaline for his reactivity. His owner says that when he isn’t triggered, he is loving, loyal, smart, playful, and energetic! The owner is surrendering him because he doesn’t do well with their young children. If you think you can provide a great home for Gus, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. Story
Pretzel is a happy and active boy. He has been a wonderful part of our family for four years. He is incredibly gentle with our toddler, loves to play with all dogs in our neighborhood, is REALLY good at playing fetch, and never has accidents in the house. As we look for a new home for Pretzel, he will do best with a family that works from home or is home majority of the day. He doesn't like to be alone. He also needs exercise, ideally at least 30-60 minutes several times per week. This could be walks, playing fetch, or jogs/runs. We also think he would like a home where he isn't the only dog. He does well at doggy daycares and has no aggression tendencies. Pretzel has a sensitive stomach, so he only takes a certain kind of food and treats. He has nevee had any table food. We have about 3 month supply of his food we can offer to his new family. Thanks for considering.

These gorgeous Aussies are siblings whose owners' declining health forced them to relinquish them. They are house-trained, play very well together, and are excellent travelers. They get along with the 3 other dogs in their foster home (2 German Shepherds and 1 mini Aussie). When cuddling together, Maeve and Murphy look like one big fluffy ball with 2 heads. Murphy is very lovable. He will put his head into your neck in the most endearing way. Mira Maeve, (Mai Mai) as we call her, is very well behaved, sweet, and pretty with beautiful round eyes.
