Story
Dexter is a sweet fella who needs a chance with a smart owner. He loves his people fiercely, but he can be wary of strangers at first. At long as he gets to sniff without being bombarded, he is great! Dexter has learned so much while with us! He knows to sit, down, wait, out, play fetch, and walks nicely on a leash. Dexter loves other dogs and enjoys playing. He loves frisbees, tennis balls, and belly rubs. He will never pass up a good cuddle session! Dexter is a Belgian Malinois mix, meaning he does need physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him satisfied. In a home, Dexter may feel he needs to protect his person and home from outsiders. He needs someone to guide him and work with him through that. He is the most loyal boy and wants to please! We would prefer anyone that is interested in Dexter to have experience with the Belgian Malinois breed or Shepherd experience, but this is not required. Dexter Miny would make an incredibly loyal and loving partner in life. Please don't make Dexter wait any longer for his forever home!

Story
Wyatt is 1 yr old Husky/Australian Shepherd mix with strong breed characteristics. Super friendly but is 60lbs and likes to use his mouth and paws to get attention. He would love a playmate around his size. Currently lives with a cat and 12lb dog who do not appreciate his attention or play style. He is smart, sweet, highly food motivated and occasionally stubborn. He loves to play disc and ball. Fully crate trained, basic obedience training and introduced to agility. He would be best with a good sized yard or someone with an active lifestyle. He has never shown any interest in escaping but does occasionally dig. I am not able to provide the active home he needs. He is a young herding dog and does small nips for affection and attention so I do not recommend a home with children. I travel frequently between SW VA and Southern Ohio and willing to transport him for the right home. Currently enrolled in a 3 week training program to work in manners, greeting and loose leash walking.

Story
Aspen is a happy playful dog with 3 legs. She lost her leg 3 years ago from bouncing around and getting caught in her lead and falling off the steps. She loves people and other animals but she thinks they all want to play wrestle. She is good with older kids but she has had an issue with our baby. Jealousy mostly, because we haven’t had as much time for her since he came and she requires A LOT of attention. Overall she has been a great dog.

Story
AUSSIE, very active, unbelievably smart. She’s 4 years old and weighs around 25 lbs Sissy needs to be in a home with an active lifestyle. Aussies are incredibly smart dogs that are motivated to learn & please you. If you don’t have experience with this breed, we highly recommend you do your research before applying. Australian Shepherds need to have a job and if they don’t, they will quickly assign themselves one. From Sissy's foster mom: Sissy is a high-energy dog who would thrive in a home with at least one other dog or a highly active owner who wants to walk her often. She loves going to the dog park and is very sociable. Having a fenced yard would be best since Sissy prefers to run around outside. She loves being brushed and loved on. She is house-broken and scratches at the door to go out. She is crate-trained and sleeps through the night. She is a very fun dog.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
We are fostering Leo, who is 5 months old. Leo is a bit shy at first, but warms up easily and is very sweet. He will jump in your lap and loves to be petted. He is excellent with cats and a bit submissive with other dogs. Leo is house trained and actually does not chew on everything like some puppies. He does like socks and shoes (which we put up). And raw hides. We do not crate him when we leave the house. He does have puppy energy and would benefit from a fenced backyard or could easily run with an owner who likes to jog.
