Story
Meet MISS SADIE PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - MISS SADIE BREED - Miniature Australian Shepherd SIZE - About 25 pounds AGE - 5 years GENDER - Female MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Miss Sadie is a wonderful little dog seeking the companionship of a wonderful adopter! Not only is she adorable, but she is super sweet. She is both quiet, and clean, and a perfect little sweetheart that would be happy beside her special person enjoying a quiet life. Miss Sadie came to us as an owner surrender from NC. We have been told that the male of the couple who owner her would whip her if she urinated in the home, and that caused her to grow fearful of men. She is much more comfortable with females. This very submissive, shy girl is not a fan of being crated and possibly was kept in one too much. Miss Sadie has bonded with another small dog in our rescue and would likely do very well in a home with another small dog. Miss Sadie came to us weighing just over 25 pounds, and we are working hard to get her to a healthy weight of 15-17 pounds. She is in otherwise good health, spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with her, and to work diligently on slow and continued weight loss with increasing exercise.. A home without larger pets or small children, and with a fenced, secure yard is a must. We would prefer to find a female only household for her with an experienced adopter. Miss Sadie has a heart of gold and will be a treasure for the lucky adopter! Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Save a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Miss Sadie and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Miss Sadie at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting her and determining that she matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- West Point, VA Meet Comet! He is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 70 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Comet is hostile around strangers! He is good with older children and cats! No younger children or dogs, due to his reactivity! Comet bit the owner’s neighbor 2.5 years ago after they were antagonizing him in the owner’s yard. The neighbor turned to leave and Comet bit him in the back of the leg. On 12/16, both of the owner’s dogs ran out the front door and chased the same neighbor’s daughter. She was not harmed and the neighbor came out yelling at the owner and the owner’s daughters. He picked up his daughter and turned away while continuing to yell. Comet ran up and bit him on the back of the leg. The owner is surrendering him because he is aggressive with strangers and bit their neighbor twice. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Comet, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Comet. Owner’s Contact Information: Laura at indzerisjohnson@yahoo.com.

Story
Lora Lee is a very sweet dog that is just 2 years old and weighs 42 pounds.  She is said to be an Aussie mix with some Terrier.  Whatever the mix is we think she is a most unusual and truly a beautiful girl who well with other dogs in her foster home.  She is a friend to all and apparently she is house trained as long as taken out regular. Lola Lee is crate trained but cannot be left for long hours in the crate.  She is not leash trained  but is trying to improve.   We are requesting that applicants have a fenced yard for her because she is an active girl that needs to run and play with freedom and not at the end of a leash only. This beauty loves to cuddle and be by your side like your BFF and shadow. If you have another dog that would be great for her to have a playmate that can help her wear out her energy every day.  Lola Lee is a great girl and she is going to need an active family that can challenge and meet her need for exercise and be able to keep up with her.   She is really not a dog for a retirement couple that are ready to have a more laidback dog with fewer exercise demands.  If you are interested in this girl please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.December 30, 2024, 2:10 pm

Story
Meet Alice, our darling brown and white girl that has the most memorable face and sky high ears you have ever seen.   This girl was born around the middle of May and is thought to be combination of lots of breed influences.   For starters we think that Cattle Dog and Aussie might be a mixture that are dominant for her.  She is one smart little girl that adorable her foster family and all the other big dogs (several German Shepherds are her mentors and big sisters) and many foster cats are present as well in the home.  Her boundless happy puppy energy catapults her through the days as she grows in to a true beauty inside and out.  She is so playful and loving and always ready for the next BIG ADVENTURE!  She loves to chase toys and explore the backyard for new things to do and maybe a few squirrels to make friends with.  She absorbs whatever you teach her like a sponge.  Her foster mom is an excellent trainer and knows the importance of teaching manners and commands.  Her friendly nature makes her easy to meet new people and she is does not shy away from new experiences either.  She is a snuggler when she is tired and very loving as she sits beside you to watch a good TV show.  This girl will be an excellent recall pup since she is learning that now and is so eager to please and be with her humans.  If you are interested in this beauty who will grow to be a 45-50 pound girl, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Let us know where you live: city and state when you are inquiring. Story
This beautiful girl is called Kenzie, and she is from what we can tell,  a husky/ Australian Shepherd mix that defies definition in character and charm and intelligence. This girl is approximately 4-5 months old.And weighs twenty eight pounds. Her story is not uncommon in the south, but it definitely was one of abuse or more accurately qualified as neglect.  She was located in a very small pin that was outside with very little cover. No straw low temperatures and food thrown on the ground without a bowl and frozen water in the water bucket her owner was actually homeless and not even in the area due to illness.   We expected a very emotionally damaged girl as well as physically harmed, but that was not the case.   Our girl Kinsey is a survivor and a brilliant puppy. Full of life and resilience and confidence.  She adores other dogs young children comma is fine with cats.If that is what she needs to live with.  She has beautiful eyes that are the color of blue in one and brown in the other.  Her charming personality is bold happy and full of smiles an energy.  She embraces life with the full expectancy that she will give good and good will come back to her.And that is what we have promised her at critter cavalry rescue. We will not settle for anything but the best. And our hope is that she will have a home filled with laughter and activities thar also include a homd with a fenced yard, and long walks or jogs, along with excursions in the car that the best of great outdoor events. Kinsey is a dog that will make you live with a big soul and a ready expectation to good things to happen in your life.  She brings great karma to all who meet her.   If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained and undeniable beauty, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.
