Story
Meet Isabel — a survivor with a quiet, courageous heart. This stunning 35-lb Australian Shepherd has an incredible story of resilience. Rescued from a large hoarding situation at just nine months old, Isabel experienced more uncertainty in her first year than most dogs ever should. During a foster transition, she slipped away and survived on her own for five months before being safely trapped and returned to our care. Today, Isabel is thriving. She is intelligent, athletic, and incredibly loyal once she bonds. She loves her walks and runs beautifully on leash — she’s even completed a 5K with her foster! True to her breed, she needs activity and purpose and would do best with an active adopter who enjoys walking or running. Isabel is gentle and peaceful in the home, does well with respectful dogs and children, and enjoys calm companionship. She is still building confidence and prefers slow, patient handling rather than lots of physical affection right away. With time and trust, she forms a deep connection. Isabel is looking for someone who understands that the best relationships are built, not rushed — someone who will give her consistency, patience, and a steady routine. Her past made her cautious. Her spirit made her strong.....Now she’s ready for her forever. Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. Zoey is a loving and loyal 6 year old who is looking for a new family! She enjoys lots of walks and belly rubs. She does not like other dogs and gets very stressed while in an environment with a lot of dogs. She also does not enjoy small children. Zoey would be great for a family with older children who are calm and respectful. Zoey listens very well and will be a loving member in your family. Ps. She does husky talk a lot 😆

Story
Pistachio is a one-year-old, medium sized, mixed-breed with a totally mysterious lineage & backstory (he was found as a stray). Whatever his breed mix (maybe some kind of shepherd with all that fluff?), it clearly includes equal parts good looks, goofiness, and friendliness. Personal space? Pistachio’s never heard of it. He loves affection and will happily park himself at your feet, on your lap, or anywhere he can be close to his people. He’d make a great work from home companion. He’s a great car rider so would also enjoy accompanying you on any weekend adventures. When it comes to playtime, Pistachio is wonderfully self-sufficient. He’s tried just about every toy in the bin and can entertain himself, but he also loves a good game of tug or fetch when you’re up for it. Pistachio gets along well with other playful pups (he’s currently fostered with 2 other dogs) and would be thrilled to have a tolerant or equally energetic doggy sibling—or he’ll happily take all your attention as a solo sidekick. He’s the perfect fit for an active person that’s willing to maintain the structure he’s accustomed to and continue working on basic obedience. He’s very food motivated, which makes him easy to train. His foster, who has professional dog training experience, is also more than willing to offer support after adoption as well. Pistachio is UTD on vaccines, kept on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, neutered & microchipped. His adoption fee is $350. Story
Meet Myla, who was adopted previously, but came back to us for reasons totally out of her control. (Details can be provided to potential adopters.) Myla is a 3-year-old, 46 lb., Border Collie. She is housetrained, crate trained, walks well on leash, rides well in the car, and gets along with other dogs. Myla is gentle, full of love and snuggles. She is such a smart and happy girl who loves to play, find sticks, and then curl up in your lap. Myla is shy and needs a little bit of time to get adjusted to strangers and once she gains your trust, she is the sweetest lady. Because of this, her ideal forever home would be one with no small children. Myla is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Myla, please reach out to us for an application.
