Story
Smokey Bear is one of a bonded pair (see Gemma’’s URL) https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/42834107-albuquerque-new-mexico-german-shepherd-dog-boxer-mix If you are looking for a couple of sweet companions, they will win your heart! Their only requirement is a large yard or outdoor space because they are happy to forgo a walk and instead romp and play with each other until they are exhausted! But they also love to just hang out and play ball, or settle down with a marrow bone and nap. Smokey is 1 1/2 years old, and a sweet boy who can be a little shy until he gets to know you. He displays many of the herding characteristics, has learned basic commands, and is sensitive and devoted. He seems mystified by small children, but only because he hasn’t had any exposure. He is not aggressive, but can be chatty when meeting new dogs, or when he is insecure or uncertain. He responds well to redirection. Smokey LIVES to please his person or persons!

Story
I picked Reyna up at a shelter. I’m unable to car for her due to my busy work schedule sometimes I can’t even make it home for the day. She is still a puppy and loves to play, she’s very friendly and energetic. The last thing I would want to do is put her back into the shelter so I’m trying to find a home for her.

Story
RIPLEY IS READY TO BE ADOPTED! 🎉 This super sweet 1-1.5 year old Aussie girl is all healed & ready to be someone’s forever love. She is a pretty herdy girl, so we are specifically seeking a home familiar with herding breeds. This also means no children under 10 in her forever home. Ripley has pemphigus, so she will likely need medication for life. It’s not an expensive med, but it is very necessary to keep her well. She also will need to limit her sun exposure. Just like most pups of her breed, Ripley loves to play, learn, and have adventures. She would love a furry sibling who likes to play. Kitties and chickens are fine with her as well. Viva! NM Rural Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue therefore we do not have a shelter facility. Meet & greets can be arranged by appointment only or if the animal is at an adoption event. Our adoption process begins with an adoption application, which you can fill out in person at an event or onlinehere: https://forms.gle/nwTzSeaXwgRb7xX68 Once the application is submitted and approved, Viva! conducts a meet & greet, and then a home visit. Once the application, meet & greet & home visit are successfully completed we complete our adoptions with an adoption contract and payment of the adoption fee. Each contract includes a 10 day trial adoption period. We do NOT do out of state adoptions. Adoption fees for our dogs is $250 Seniors and select animals may have reduced fees. The adoption fee includes current vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter and heartworm testing.

Story
Sweet old Jax is looking for a soft place to land. This gentle senior would make a wonderful partner for someone looking for an easy-going, calm four-legged companion. He`s a big guy with a sensitive soul who is deserving of a caring home that can take him for easy walks and just share quality time together. If you have another dog Jax would like to meet them to see if they`ll be good housemates. Jax is ready to become your faithful friend, to share beautiful sunrises and sunsets together, to be an ear for listening and an all around good pal.

Story
Jack Jack is a medium sized super high energy doggo that loves to run and play! He is people selective and loves to protect his family. Because he tends to get very attached, he would need a home where someone is there for me 24/7. He prefers females as he is more comfortable with them, so he would need to go slow when meeting males. He is great with other dogs and would love to have a playmate. He also loves to play in water, so a small dog pool is preferred!! He is definitely still a puppy at heart and gets incredibly fast zoomies! He would do best in a home where he can be very active and play as long as he wants! He would also do best in a home with older children and adults since he is very high energy. If you are looking for a hiking buddy, a running buddy or just a very active playmate he would be the perfect fit for you!He can be found at the main ranch location. Story
Sansa (of the House Bark) is an absolutely beautiful little lady with the most gorgeous eyes, and she is ready to be the queen of your heart! She has some room to grow, and definitely needs potty training and time to learn new tricks. But she`s smart as a whip, and is already good at listening to commands! Winter may be coming, but the castle that is lucky enough to have Sansa in it to play a Game of Bones will surely make their kingdom feel as warm as a long summer! ???
