Name: Tofu Age: Puppy Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Not yet Personality: Tofu may be little, but he’s packed with spunk and charm! Weighing in at under 10 pounds, this adventurous and curious pup loves exploring his surroundings. Whether he’s zooming around the yard or playing with other small dogs, Tofu is always full of energy and joy. Temperament: Tofu is smart and eager to learn, making him a fun and interactive companion. He’s also a cuddle bug who enjoys plenty of snuggles when he’s not busy playing or exploring. Training: • Kennel: Tofu is kennel trained and sleeps soundly through the night. • Potty Training: He’s still working on it, but he’s making progress! With his short little legs, Tofu uses a ramp to navigate steps and has even mastered doing his business on decks if needed. Special Notes: • Tofu absolutely loves the outdoors—he thrives in a home where he can spend time outside safely. • Being a baby, his schedule is a simple one: eat, sleep, play, and repeat! Ideal Home: Tofu would do best in a home with a yard or outdoor space to explore. A family who can keep up with his playful energy and continue his potty training would be ideal. He’s great with other small dogs and would enjoy having a sibling to romp around with. Are you ready for the tiny but mighty Tofu to bring love and laughter into your home? He’s ready to meet you! Story
Meet Kadie, a lovable Aussie mix born in October 2019, looking for her forever family! Kadie is a sweet, smart and energetic girl with a strong herding instinct. While she’s made incredible progress with her current family, she’s had a challenging start in life and is now ready for a fresh start with a patient and loving family. Kadie would thrive with an active family who understands the needs of a herding breed, ideally with one that could  provide a structured routine. She is eager to learn and would benefit from some basic training and continued guidance to build her confidence and trust. This sweet girl is food motivated and already kennel trained—she’s ready to impress with her smarts! Kadie loves meeting new people and is a social butterfly, with a special fondness for kids of all ages. She enjoys long walks, backyard play, and any activity that keeps her active and engaged. A loving home where she can get regular exercise and lots of attention will help her continue to grow into the best companion. Kadie has had positive interactions with other pets, though she prefers to meet them first. With the right introduction, she would be happy to share her home with other furry friends. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a smart, loving, and active companion, Kadie is ready to become part of your family. She’s waiting for someone who will give her the love, attention, and training she needs to thrive. The suggested adoption donation for Kadie is $350. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page. ##1377794##

Story
Hank (b. 2/2021) is an affectionate Australian Shepherd mix.  He's a really good boy, he just gets a little nervous sometimes.  He loves snuggling and giving hugs or getting pets. He will even stand on his hind legs to get hugs!  He does great with his toys and will let you take them with no problems.  He is a VERY active dog, and loves to play tug-o-war and fetch (even though he doesn’t always want to drop the ball). He would do anything for a treat or an ice cube… he loves to catch and eat ice cubes as fast as he can. Hank is looking for an adult only home and even better if you work from home or are home often.  He needs someone that would be willing to work with him and give him a little training.  A fenced-in yard would be preferred since he has a ton of energy.  Hank is a little sensitve about having his paws touched and it just depends on his mood whether or not he will let you.  If you are calm and patient, then you just might be the perfect match for Hank.  Apply today!! The suggested adoption donation for Hank is $325. Adoptions for Hank are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that s/he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. Story
Buddy (b 10/2015) is a handsome Australian Shepherd looking for his furever home. While this loverboy loves the Aussie ladies, he can be dog selective so he'll need more than one good introduction to any other dogs in the home.  Buddy's the kinda guy that never wanted kids of his own (which is why he decided to get neutered) and doesn't really want to live with any young children... or cats.  And while we're at it, he doesn't really want to live with any other small critters, either.  Buddy's perfect home would include a fenced in back yard where he can play frisbee, sunbathe, sniff all the sniffs, and daydream.  Buddy is a chatty kind of guy (not well suited for apartment living) who likes to go on long walks with his people.  He's a great traveling companion, loves car rides and the great outdoors.  Most of all, Buddy really loves his people and would prefer someone who can be home with him for most of the day or take him with them when they leave.  He is not a fan of loud noises (storms, beeping noises, vacuum, fireworks or washing machines), they can make him a bit anxious.  Buddy has a severe allergy to chicken so he enjoys a pescatarian diet.  He takes a chew supplement everyday for hip dysplasia, but don't let him fool you - Buddy has a lot of play left in him!  If Buddy sounds like your kinda guy, apply for him today! The suggested adoption donation for Buddy is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time-to-time owner’s find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.
