I am currently hanging out with a cool foster family. I live with other dogs .  I am very laid back and submissive and love to play with my foster fur siblings.   I absolutely love dog toys and bones to chew on.  When my foster family brings home a new squeaky toy I am like a kid in a candy store. I will throw that toy around and play with it for hours.  Well until I get the squeaker out.   I am 100% potty trained.  I like to sit by the door when I want to go outside. I am also kennel trained.  My foster family says they have to do this thing called work.  I willingly go into my kennel and rest till they get home.   I am ready to find my forever family and I hope that could be you.  Please apply today to meet me.  With time and love, I know I will be the best dog you never knew you needed in your life.   January 2, 2025, 8:44 pm

Story
Meet Cotton Candy! Meet the sweetest, funniest, goofiest boy around. Cotton is a little over a year old and full of Aussie energy. Cotton is looking for a family that has a great sense of humor and an understanding of the needs of this fun breed.Cotton is a double merle as is evident by his fluffy, white coat. It also can impact vision and hearing. In Cotton’s case he is completely deaf but does have some vision- mainly shadows. But this has ZERO effect on this boy and the wonderful life he will live!Cotton loves playing with other dogs and is generally fantastic with them- he is still a young, male Aussie that can’t always read other dog’s signals. Occasionally, he irks his companions but he’s a quick study and rarely repeats a misstep. He has been as respectful as he’s able to with the resident cats. Cotton loves all humans he meets- big and small!Cotton is a good boy in his crate and has (knocks on wood) figured out house training like a champ. Cotton loves to go for runs with his foster dad and is great at it. He’d be a wonderful training companion. Cotton is an active boy and needs to keep his brain and body busy. He’s smart and willing. Training him is a joy!Cotton is looking for a family that will encourage, train and help him continue to live a wonderfully full life. Herding dog knowledge is helpful but not necessary if you are willing and able to provide him the stimulation he needs. He does need another, welcoming dog in his new home. The give him a familiar, easy way to learn his new environment.Cotton will be endless laughs and the occasional head shake for his new family. They will truly be the lucky ones!So cute! Super cute!Cotton has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccinations. He has also tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $450.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application if you have questions about Cotton or would like to meet him.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Argo arrived in November 2022 from our friends at the Rescue Network after he was rescued from a Reservation in South Dakota. He is about 3 years old does have a lot of the trademark features of mixed breed dogs from Reservations - "Rezzies", as they are affectionately known in rescue. Like many Rezzies, he could be a mix of cattle dog and German and/or Australian shepherd, just to name a few possible options. He's a handsome and very active dog. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $125. Argo has had some basic training and will require a lot of consistent exercise. This is of the utmost importance in order to keep him well balanced and happy. He is ready for action all the time but gets serious when leashed. He does pretty well on leash walks and loves car rides. He's an affectionate guy, too, who thinks nothing of climbing into a person's lap if he gets the chance. Argo would do best in a home with a large fenced yard. He's not a dog for apartment living. He's looking for an ADULT only, single person home as he tends to bond very closely to his person and becomes quite protective. No cats for him. He's incredibly smart and would be a lot of fun to train! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hutch came to the shelter as a stray on 12/16/2024. We held him for the legal hold time and no one claimed him. We're guessing he could have mini Australian shepherd, poodle, border collie, and maybe some sort of spaniel in his breed mix. Don't hold us to this, however, because we're just not positive. He's a petite young guy who is around a year old. He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped and his fee is $150. Hutch is a shy guy but is well mannered and enjoys attention. Once he's comfy with people, he's very loving and kind of goofy. He keeps his kennel clean at the shelter. He will need some basic training as he's not too sure about the whole leash thing. He would prefer a somewhat quiet ADULT only home. Teens are okay. Cats are probably a no for him. He has done okay with dogs of similar size but can be a bit reluctant to share attention. He will need some consistent grooming as he does have a somewhat wavy coat. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.
