Story
Location: Oak Grove, MN I am a sweet girl that gets along with just about anything. I’m being fostered with other dogs and love playing with them and I don’t mind the cat either. I am potty trained and working on liking the kennel more, but treats help! I did great getting groomed and with my longer hair it’s best I get pampered regularly. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
Location: St Paul, MN Ava is a petite, energetic, and loving girl. She is crate trained and potty trained. She could use some leash training to reduce pulling, but otherwise loves walks and meeting new friends at the dog park. She definitely has herding breed energy and wants to please, so she needs to go to a home that would give her daily exercise. I can easily picture her being one of those border collies doing tricks with a frisbee! She’s very smart and would love a job, so she would be great with one-on-one training and stimulation, if an adopter out there is looking for that in a dog. All that being said, her world stops when you pet her and give her love. I think she would hug me back if she could:) She loves her humans and will be a very loyal companion. She’s great with our dogs, but has a hard time NOT focusing on our cats. We have not witnessed a chase, but she could stare at them and stalk all day if we weren’t there to deter her, so it would probably be best for all if she was in a kitty-free home. She loves anyone she meets, but has a tendency for some non-aggressive herding nips. I think a home with kids is fine for her, but just to be aware of that risk or be ready to train her out of it. Ava has been a very easy foster for us, and we can’t wait to find her perfect match! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
River is a 4 year old male mini Aussie. He is very active and well trained, sit, stay, wait, lay down, roll over and can play dead. Loves being outside and very active. He does tend to bark if not occupied. Very loving and loves attention. He gets along with other dogs and can learn any trick you teach him. He is up to date on shots and has had been a one family dog. He loves food and is very food driven. He likes to share other dogs food if not fed separately. He does not like cats anymore as he was attacked. He will chase other animals but will leave it when told to do so. Unfortunately, my life took a drastic turn and I have to regretfully rehome him. He is very loving. When taken for walks off leash he will check in, he grew up in the woods on a dirt road. I spent so much time on him, he is an incredible dog. He was good with my girls. But may get a little nervous around small children.

Story
Meet Allie, a 2019 edition of a party colored Australian Shepherd x Border Collie weighing in at 42 lbs. This beautiful gal came to NWMNAR because her previous owner had to leave abroad to help take care of in-laws and could not take Allie with. Allie loves going to obedience class and showing how smart she is. Allie needs an Aussie savy owner her can outsmart her. She is best with dogs the same size, she has prey drive towards rabbits and may not do well with cats or other smaller animals possibly including smaller tiny dogs. Allie takes time with strangers and will often back away barking. Allie has been scared of men with hats in the past. She can be a bit barky towards other dogs on walks, but has been learning to play nice. She can be dominant towards other dogs. Allie doesn't like plastic crates, but does just fine in wire crate. Allie must be crated in a vehicle otherwise she will run around in a vehicle pushing window switches until she gets out. Allie is best to go for a walk before a car ride to ensure she doesn't nervous defecate in the vehicle. Allie hies and sleeps under the bed to keep the monsters away. Allie does like to vocalize herself if she sees other dogs outside when she is peering out the windows. She has just started to play with toys and gets groomed twice a week with a brush. Allie is available for adoption. Free adoption applications can be found on our website at: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NMA/Dog. Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. Meet and greets will take place in a public setting along with the adoption if compatible. Dogs can be met in Ada, MN or in our alternate office location in Maple Grove, Mn.
