Meet Sammy! This beautiful 2 yr old blue eyed girl is an Australian Shepherd x Klee Kai. Sammy came into rescue via divorce and her owner having to find a new place to live. Sammy was supposed to complete her certification to become an emotional support dog. She is one of the sweetest girls here at the rescue waiting for her furever home! Sammy walks beautifully on a leash, however, does not have recall and with her Alaskan Klee Kai in her she would love to run and run. A fenced yard is a mandatory necessity, and on a leash when outside of her home. Sammy is still learning how to ride in vehicles without being scared. While she is calm in a travel kennel, she does tend to drool. With time and practice she should become an expert rider. Sammy is spayed, will be up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption, and is microchipped. Fine Print: All dogs of NWMNAR are screened at the headquarters in Ada, Mn until they are vetted. They are then transferred to foster homes throughout MN and some into ND so they can get used to lifestyles with a family in a home. Adoption fee for an adult dog is $300 + Mn tax. Adoption fee for a dog over 3 years of age is $300 + Mn tax., pup/dog1 year to 3 years is $400 + Mn tax. Under 1 year of age $500 + Mn tax. Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. Meet Allie, a 2019 edition of a party colored Australian Shepherd x Border Collie weighing in at 42 lbs. This beautiful gal came to NWMNAR because her previous owner had to leave abroad to help take care of in-laws and could not take Allie with. Allie loves going to obedience class and showing how smart she is. Allie needs an Aussie savy owner whom can outsmart her. She is best with dogs the same size, she has prey drive towards rabbits and may not do well with cats or other smaller animals possibly including smaller tiny dogs. Allie takes time with strangers and will often back away barking. Allie has been scared of men with hats in the past. She can be a bit barky towards other dogs on walks, but has been learning to play nice. She can be dominant towards other dogs. Allie doesn't like plastic crates, but does just fine in wire crate. Allie must be crated in a vehicle otherwise she will run around in a vehicle pushing window switches until she gets out. Allie is best to go for a walk before a car ride to ensure she doesn't nervous defecate in the vehicle. Allie hides and sleeps under the bed to keep the monsters away. Allie does like to vocalize herself if she sees other dogs outside when she is gazing out the windows. She has just started to play with toys and gets groomed twice a week with a brush. Meet 8 year old Diego. This big beautiful blue merle teddy bear is sweet on people and loves to go for rides!! This guy was surrendered over to NWMNAR as he and another male dog did not see eye to eye. Diego never had a fenced yard and would appreciate the security of a fenced yard where he can run and play with his humans! Diego loves the snow and enjoys cooling off outside on cool days. He plays well with kids and has been around cats. Diego has a little separation anxiety and would prefer to be by your side. He is obedience trained, walks well on a leash, sleeps in the house, is house trained, will sleep on your bed or lay on the couch with you, rides well in vehicles, and will alert you if someone arrives at the door. If you can find it in your heart to give this guy a furever home, and show him the love he needs he will be forever grateful and would love to go for rides with you and ride shotgun for a DQ or McD's!
