Story
This little beauty is Bristol. AKA Luca, Luca B or Lukey. To our best knowledge, she was born in January 2020 in Cleveland, Texas. Like many dogs that end up in rescue, she was part of a litter of puppies that were simply unwanted. She spent the first year of her life living in an outdoor pen unaltered with two of her brothers. Luca came to Minnesota almost three years ago and she's lived here knowing nothing but love and kindness. She has always been a very fun and happy girl and she loves being the boss of her current furry brothers. She also loves her human sister immensely. She doesn't mind the cat but she does bark at him when he walks by her kennel at night. Unfortunately, the house that she lives in is very busy and there is a lot of increased activity as her human sister gets older. Luca has shown that she does not handle the commotion or change very gracefully. We have been working with her for a while however she is a herding breed dog and takes her excitement out in the form of nipping much like you would see in a cattle dog on a farm. Her family has sadly decided it would be best for her if she could live out her days on a farm or with an active human or couple of humans. Luca is kennel trained, potty trained, walks great on a leash, loves going camping and loves to cuddle and give kisses. Just don't squeeze her too tight because she doesn't like it. We know the perfect family is out there for her and until we find it, she's safe with her current family. We truly want the best for her! Bristol's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website http://www.northernlakesrescue.org

Story
So my foster family calls me Mouse, because I'm tiny, but don't let that fool you. I'm fierce and mighty! Actually, my name is Marie, and I am part of the Aristocrat litter. I came from a litter of unwanted puppies. Some of my siblings went off to other places, but three of us came to Minnesota! They think I may be an aussie/heeler, maybe even a mini. I'm 8 weeks old and they tell me I'm the runt. I may be small, 3 lbs, but I can keep up with my pack. My humans give me lots of snuggles and I just melt right in. I'm the ultimate lap dog. I'm still working on the potty training thing. I'm getting there. Being in my kennel isn't my idea of fun either, I'd rather be outside. I heard there's snow coming. I'm going to need a jacket to keep warm so I can play. Do you think you could show me the world? I'd love to be a part of your family! If I look like your snuggle bug, put your application in right away! You can find me on Northernlakesrescue.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Matilda, a lively young Australian Shepherd puppy with a heart full of love and energy. She adores everyone she meets and thrives in the company of other dogs, especially her foster siblings—a young lab mix and a chihuahua. Matilda's journey began with a rough start; she was abandoned by her previous owner and left to fend for herself as a small puppy. Thanks to the kindness of neighbors and a rescue group, she was eventually placed in a foster home where she blossomed. Matilda is the perfect companion for an active person or family. She loves car rides, playing fetch, splashing in water, and tossing toys in the air. While she's affectionate and playful, her vocal nature makes her better suited for a home without shared walls. If you're looking for a fun-loving, goofy, and intelligent dog who will keep you on your toes, Matilda is ready to bring endless joy to your life. She’s eagerly awaiting the day she finds her next adventure and new home—could it be with you? Matilda is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
