Story
Meet Milo! This 5 year old, 40 pound, Miniature Australian Shepherd is ready to meet his forever family! This spunky boy is looking for someone who can be his best friend while accommodating his high energy needs.Due to Milo’s breed, he likes to have a job to focus on each day. Sometimes, he thinks his job is to manage the people around him. This can manifest in being nitpicky around children and he’ll want to correct their behavior and can become frustrated when this doesn’t go his way. For this reason, he should go to a home with kids 13 years and older. Aside from these behaviors, Milo loves being around people and receiving all the love and attention he can get! Milo was crate trained as a puppy but it’s not his favorite spot to be. He prefers to free roam the house and does very well. He adjusts quickly to new surroundings but has anxiety that’s well managed by daily medication. It’s important that Milo’s forever family will be one that’s dedicated to managing his anxiety long-term.Milo does great with other dogs but prefers them to be more submissive than him in size and personality. He likes to be the boss! He’d likely do well with another dog in the home given the right dynamics are in place. We aren’t sure how he’d do around cats long-term. He’s had short interactions with them and is largely disinterested. This smart boy enjoys a moderate to high activity level to stimulate him each day. For this reason, he would like a home that can give him a couple walks a day with additional playtime in between. He does well with a tie-out so a fenced yard is not required.Milo’s ready to meet his forever family! With lots of love and activity, he will be the ultimate best friend anyone could ask for. If you’re interested in learning more about Teddy and think he might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! Whoever becomes his family will be lucky they did.https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Meet Marti! Marti is a 5 year old, neutered, double merle, male, who came to us almost completely feral. He is a slightly pudgy 40 pounds, crate trained, house broke (but still leaks a little urine when sleeping although we haven't tried medication for that yet as it has been improving). As he is double merle he has some vision issues as well. Marti will need a very special owner that is willing to give him plenty of time to learn to trust. At his foster home Marti gets along with other dogs, is great with cats, and walks off leash in a rural setting. Marti is that lower energy aussie everyone's looking for and would like a quiet home. Marti will need more training in cooperative Care which his foster is working on and is easy to implement. The details: Needs Fence: Depends on setting (needs to gain trust to be leashed, fence necessary in busier area) Good With Dogs: Yes Good With People: Needs patience Good with cats: Yes All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.

Story
UPDATED BIO - Dodger is a year old neutered Red Tri Aussie with lots of copper and a white blaze on his chest. Dodger's history is unknown - he was a stray that had to be live trapped. Dodger loves his people and other dogs but is somewhat nervous in new environments. Like most dogs, once he realizes he's in a safe place he becomes very outgoing and bouncy! Dodger would do really well with another dog to play with. Even though Dodger could jump a shorter fence, he made no attempt to in one of his foster homes, always staying close to his foster Mom. A fenced yard would be beneficial, though, as Dodger hasn't had enough walks yet to realize how fun they are, and his history of running makes him a flight risk. Needs fence: Yes Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown - no exposure Good with kids: Teens or older All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Story
Introducing Lucy! Brand new to rescue, we know very little about Lucy, who came to rescue with Gemma, other than the basics: Lucy is 4 year old red merle spayed female weighing 28 lbs at intake, who was surrendered due to not being good with babies and young children in the home and was living in an unheated garage with Gemma. At current, both dogs are friendly & affectionate with people, soaking up all opportunities to be with them but are showing signs of not being good citizens with unfamiliar dogs at this time as they acclimate from living in a garage away from people and other dogs to being inside a home where human and canine contact is more regular. Lucy is also struggling some separation anxiety, which isn't surprising given her previous situation. We are currently taking some time to assess them as to their needs when it comes to living with other dogs long-term, but are seeking big hearts with time and patience to give who could be interested in fostering or foster-to-adopt applicants for these ladies. The details: Needs Fence: Yes Good with dogs: So far no Good with cats: Unknown, no exposure Good with kids: Older kids All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers.
