Story
**Because of Sally's behavior issues, she is not a first come, first serve adoption. Interested parties will need to speak with our behavior coordinator to discuss the match.** Meet Sally, a beautiful 4-year-old Australian Shepherd who's been through a lot but is finally ready for a new beginning. When she first came to us, Sally was emaciated and in poor condition, the result of a lack of proper care. With time, patience, and the love of our dedicated staff and foster families, she's blossomed into a healthy, spirited dog, though she still takes her time trusting new faces. Sally can be nervous when meeting new people and animals, so she'll need a gentle, slow introduction to both. Once she feels safe, she warms up and shows off her sweet, affectionate nature. Sally would thrive in a quiet home with low foot traffic, where she can feel secure. She does well with calm, respectful dogs after a careful introduction, though her history with cats is unknown. If there are kids in the home, we recommend they be gentle and patient, as Sally's confidence grows best in calm, supportive settings. If you're ready to help Sally feel safe and loved, reach out to learn more about this special adoption process. Sally's journey deserves a happy ending, and she just might be waiting for you. If you're ready to adopt within the next 24-48 hours and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30p-3:00p. For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt! **OR** Click on the pink "Adopt me" button to submit an adoption inquiry. Watch your email for a response from us! Adopting through this process will take several days and highly desirable pets are likely to no longer be available. PLEASE NOTE: Adoption inquiries are not holds or reservations. Pets are adopted by the first person we talk with who is a good match for the pet's needs. Multiple inquiries are accepted for each pet. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.

Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Delilah is a 5 month old female Australian shepherd mix puppy who was left in a box overnight on the porch of a veterinary clinic in MS.  Fortunately, the clinic staff took in Delilah and reached out to us to rehome her with a good family.  Friendly, well-socialized, happy young dog!  High activity level outside, loves to romp outside with the family’s dog and settles down quickly in the house with good house manners. Loves other dogs, fine with cats and living with a cat in her foster home. Great with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older. Loves to swim! It’s believed that Delilah’s tail is naturally docked. Her veterinarian rescuer believes she would do well with Agility Training as she’s so focused and active. Crate trained and housebroken. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with her people.  Estimated DOB is 5-1-24. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 20 pounds. Delilah’s ideal adopter will be an active family who has another dog for her to play with and possibly some kids! This is a happy young dog who will make a great companion (and jogging partner) for an active family with kids.
