Story
Lulu is a very sweet dog, she loves to play, she loves other dogs, cats, ferrets. she plays with all of them, she does like to go to the park, but if there's any tennis balls there she will grab them and think they're hers and only hers, and if another dog tries to grab the ball from her she will literally attack the other dog, it doesn't matter what size the dog is, he could be three times the size of her, she is potty trained for pee pads and poopy pants at night, she doesn't bark to let you know she has to go to the bathroom or not in the daytime, I just take her out before I go to work, as for children she's never been around any so I don't know how she would be, for the past week or two she's been nipping if I go to leave, I don't know why I mean she doesn't really literally bite but she'll nip at you, so she definitely needs someone to train her. She doesn't like just plain dog food, I give her a can of friskies cat food mixed in with the dog food the vet said it was fine

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Hopkinton, MA Meet Dingo! He is an 10 year old Miniature American Shepherd and weighs 18 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Dingo is nervous around strangers! He hasn’t been tested around older children. No cats, dogs or younger children, due to his reactivity! Dingo nipped a dog sitter who tried to take his food away (he resource guards high value food). He also nipped a grandparent after he growled at the owner’s baby and the grandparent grabbed his collar to pull him away. Dingo had a TPLO on his left leg and some arthritis, so he is sensitive around his knees. He is currently on fluoxetine for his anxiety. Dingo is given an omega and glucosamine supplement. He is also on a course of doxycycline for a recent positive anaplasma test. The owner is surrendering him because he nipped two people. His reactivity has increased and the owner has younger children. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Dingo, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Dingo. Owner’s Contact Information: Michael at mikejg23@gmail.com.

Story
Courtesy Post Meet Cookie! He is an 1 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 50 lbs. He is up to date on shots, but isn’t neutered or on heartworm prevention. Cookie is nervous around strangers! No children, cats or dogs, due to his reactivity! He is housebroken and crate-trained. He resource guards some items. Cookie is very smart! He loves to play and go for walks! Cookie bit the owner’s son when he was a puppy. Her son was trying to take toilet paper away from Cookie when it happened. He has bitten the owner when she has tried putting his leash on or taking it off of him. Cookie has bitten the owner while he was startled waking up from sleep. He has also bitten the owner’s husband on several occasions. He needs to be muzzled when he sees the veterinarian. The owner is surrendering him because of his bite incidents and being unpredictable. He is also reactive towards strangers, cars, and other dogs. They have worked with a trainer, but he hasn’t improved. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Cookie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Cookie.

Story
Name: Moonlight MarvaAge: 6 years of age approxWeight: 11 lbsBackground:Meet Moonlight Marva, a resilient and joyful pup with a heart full of love! Marva was found as a stray in rural Tennessee, bravely dragging herself around despite her severe condition. After X-rays revealed severe bone infections spreading to her hips, it was clear her legs couldn't be saved. However, this courageous girl wasn’t using her legs anyway, so they were removed, and she has adapted wonderfully.Personality:Marva is a true testament to resilience. Despite her past, she’s a bundle of joy and adorable. Her cheerful disposition is contagious, and she’s always happy to be alive and surrounded by loving people.Special Care:Marva does require some assistance due to her special needs:Urinating: She needs help with urination, which involves expressing her bladder. This is a simple task, especially given her small size.Bowel Movements: While Marva can defecate on her own, she lacks control. However, maintaining a regular schedule and a high-quality diet makes this easy to manage. Why Marva is Special:Don’t let her special needs deter you. Marva can do almost everything other dogs can do; she needs a little extra help. She’s a shining example of perseverance and will bring immense joy to any home willing to give her the love and care she deserves.Considerations:Marva’s condition requires a compassionate and dedicated owner who can commit to her care routine. In return, you’ll get a loyal and loving companion who will fill your life with joy and gratitude.Adopt Moonlight Marva:If you’re looking for a dog who embodies the spirit of overcoming adversity and can offer endless love, look no further than Moonlight Marva. Give this special girl the forever home she deserves; she’ll reward you with unconditional love and happiness.Name: Moonlight MarvaBreed: Mini Australian Shepherd / perhaps Corgi MixSex: FemaleSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesLocation of dog currently: Connecticut as of 9/7IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue.
