This young Australian Shepherd and Rat Terrier mix is a medium-sized bundle of fun who’s ready to turn your backyard into his personal circus (don’t worry—he’s the good kind of chaos).     Ferris gets along great with other dogs and believes playdates are serious business. He’s also quite the athlete—so athletic, in fact, that he can clear a 4-foot fence without breaking a sweat. If there were a doggie Olympics, he’d bring home the gold. Because of his aerial talents, Ferris will need a secure yard (no flimsy fences or trampoline escapes, please).  He’s working on his house training and learning fast—this smart boy aims to please!     Ferris is fun, affectionate, and ready to find his forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with brains and boundless love, apply today and meet Ferris while he's still on the market! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. He found himself in an overcrowded Alabama shelter after being surrendered by a breeder who could not sell him — but his luck changed when rescuers stepped in to give him the chance he deserves. This beautiful boy is a bit on the shy side at first, but he absolutely shines around other dogs. True to his Aussie nature, Leonard is smart, energetic, and has that classic herding instinct — which means he may try to herd and nip at heels during play or running. Because of this, he would do best in a home with older children who understand herding-breed behaviors. Leonard is at the perfect age for training and socialization, and with a patient adopter, he’ll blossom into the amazing companion he’s meant to be. Apply today and become the forever home this beautiful boy has been waiting for! *Woof* I`m in a foster home! Email my foster caregiver to meet me: Mirandafosterhra100@gmail.comFirst, Little Boy is not so little. He is 75 pounds of pure sweetness! We all LOVE this Big Boy and you will too. He is so perfect and handsome! He loves car rides and hanging his head out the window. He’s very cuddly and rolls fully onto his belly for snuggles and also stands up to give hugs. And he has that classic doggie howl which is so endearing. He’s very goofy and loves holding his leash to walk himself but also loves snuggling with a soft toy. He definitely seems smart - he`s potty trained and crate trained in his foster home - and he’ll be easy to train with positive training sessions. So if you love the big pooches who are cuddly and wonderful, then Little Boy is the dog for you!

Story
Hi, my name is Prancer.  I was not left behind by Santa Claus.   I got my name from the way I run.  I don’t really run, I prance around.  It just makes you smile to watch me.  I am a wonderful little guy who loves life.  I am always happy.  My foster mom says I am happy no matter what and sometimes oblivious because of my happiness.  There is a doggie door to her deck.  My favorite game is to run around the den, through the kitchen, out the doggie door, and around the yard.  Then back in.  Each time I check to make sure my foster mom is still there.  Sometimes I am actually able to persuade a couple of my foster brothers to join me.  We have a blast.  I am not sure my foster mom has the same amount of fun.  But....we keep it up until it is time to take a nap. I have fit in great here and get along well with the other doggies, even the grouchy old men!  Again, I am oblivious to their opinion of me.  I am housebroken and crate-trained.  I know to go to my crate when treats are given out.  I also eat my breakfast and dinner in my crate.   I was originally living with a senior lady.  Unfortunately, we were not a good match.  As soon as Critter Cavalry learned of my dilemma, I was placed in a more suitable home.  I am happy to hang out here until I find my forever home.   I would love a home with an active family that will take me places with them.  I am learning to walk on a leash so I can go walking and maybe even hiking with you.  If you are into agility, I am your man.  As you have already read, I am actively practicing my skills.  I would also be a great companion for a family with older children.  As an Australian Shepherd mix, I am an active boy who needs a job.  A fenced-in yard is also a must for me.   Prancer is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. To apply or learn more, email Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. (He is in Tennessee and can be transported north after adoption. Approved application and fee required.)      January 13, 2026, 6:14 pm

Story
Tommy came from a high kill shelter in TX, where not many get out of. We saw pictures of him and thought what a stunning dog. Tommy is a typical herding dog and will stay right by your side. He loves to run and play and very smart. He would love a fenced in yard to play with a buddy. He loves walks around the neighborhood with his foster family. He does get a bit scared when cars go by and is learning they are not going to get him. He does not pull on a leash. Very sweet dog. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out as the foster mum would love to tell you more. If you are interested in this handsome fellow please email us at Doginghamrescue@aol.com so we can send you an application. We are based in the Nashville, TN area and have most of our dogs transported up north. The $450 includes the adoption and transport fee (will have a health certificate too). The transport fee is not refundable if things do not work out.

These pups are in Greenbelt, Maryland too!

Story
Minnie is oh so mini, pretty, snuggly, and still a puppy! This low-rider Border Collie is really enjoying learning about her world. Her foster says that Minnie takes an inquisitive and playful stance when seeing animals from afar, and would likely, very much enjoy a well-matched playmate.   Minnie has visited the foster's neighbor, who has a cat, and although it was sleeping upstairs Minnie sniffed all of the cat stuff (beds, scratch pads, etc) with casual interest…..far different than the fixed, assertive stance she takes when near the scent of a squirrel, so she may be able to cohabitate with felines, but we are not yet sure. Minnie would do well in a home where she can be walked with regularity as she is still very much a high-energy puppy. Her forster believes that she wold be fine with respectful kids over five-years old. She can be a bull in a china shop at times and would possibly step on or knock over smaller ones.  Still a bit skittish in her new environment, Minnie can be afraid of a quick approach, and needs a stable and calm home, one in which she can feel safe. A townhouse or house would work best, as Minnie loves to run and roam. Minnie's foster believes that an apartment would not be ideal, unless her person worked from home and could offer her good, long walks morning, noon, evening, and night. She would otherwise need a fenced yard and ideally, a playmate.  Minnie has a lot of energy and her foster believes that hound in her will stray if not properly housed and exercised. Minnie's foster believes that this pretty girl was previously spoiled- on laps, in bed with her people, fed table scraps, etc. as she loves attention and treats! Will you be the person to play, snuggle, and treat this little Border Collie like a princess? PAW adopts in the MD, VA, DC, northern PA region. ##2627837##
