Story
Scuba is a sweet 6 year old male Australian Shepherd. He is merle with a big fluffy tail! Scuba loves love. He is great with people, animals and children. He might take some time to fully warm up but he is always happy to meet new friends. Scuba truly just needs his person and spent a lot of 1:1 time with his previous owner who sadly passed earlier this year. We are family members who for a myriad of reasons cannot adopt him ourselves and are committed to finding his forever home! We are here for Scuba and the future family until he meets the rainbow bridge! He's in Portland ME where he would often go on pack walks with dogs of various sizes and breeds and gets along with other dogs. He would do great in any household where he got plenty of attention, play and walks but also cannot wait to curl up with you. He has a mild / medium energy, but I would call him a pretty chill dude most of the time. He has a small birth defect in his left eye but has visibility + doesn't bother him!

Story
We are trying to help this sweet girl called Bonnie Belle to find a home since her elderly parents are in failing health and cannot care for their five dogs.  Bonnie Belle is a mix of some interesting breeds.  We think she has some Aussie and maybe Boxer in her.  The Australian Shepherd trait is what makes her a protector of the yard and home when strangers approach.  She is the home security dog officer!   This girl is losing her home because her elderly parents have fallen into bad health.  Bonnie Belle is 4 years old and weighs a little over 40 pounds.  She adores people and is good with the other dogs that she spends time with in the fenced yard.  She is housebroken, affectionate and a devoted girl to her family.  If you would like to give Bonnie her next forever home, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue who is helping her at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Lora Lee is a very sweet dog that is just 2 years old and weighs 35 pounds.  She is said to be an Aussie mix with some Terrier.  Whatever the mix is we think she is a most unusual and truly a beautiful girl who well with other dogs in her foster home.  She is a friend to all and apparently she is house trained as long as taken out regular. Lola Lee is crate trained but cannot be left for long hours in the crate.  She is not leash trained  but is trying to improve.   We are requesting that applicants have a fenced yard for her because she is an active girl that needs to run and play with freedom and not at the end of a leash only. This beauty loves to cuddle and be by your side like your BFF and shadow. If you have another dog that would be great for her to have a playmate that can help her wear out her energy every day.  Lola Lee is a great girl and she is going to need an active family that can challenge and meet her need for exercise and be able to keep up with her.   She is really not a dog for a retirement couple that are ready to have a more laidback dog with fewer exercise demands.  If you are interested in this girl please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Our precious little Australian Shepherd girl is called Calista and she was found on a very obscure country back road and had apparently been running for days and maybe longer.  She was so scared and the country neighbors that saw her day after day running with such confusion, finally cornered her in a ditch and caught her to stop the fright and flight pattern she had been chasing. This little girl is 5 months old and weighs 18 pounds.  She is learning that her foster home is just so much fun with their other dog to play with and we feel that this girl should have a partner dog to grow older with .   A fenced yard is a must for this active herding breed girl.  This sweet girl is just a cuddle bug and she hangs out just fine with cats as well as dogs and of course her favorite humans...even  a 4 year old busy, active little boy.  We also know that she is good with the chickens and goats that roam the foster mini-farm.   She is a true beauty and has apparently all the standard Australian Shepherd traits that denote a purebred dog.  How she came to be dumped is beyond our comprehension.  These days the dog abandonment is on a huge rise and curve that leaves us so puzzled.  She will not be more than a 40 pound girl when fully grown. A tri-colored Aussie girl with a kind spirit and a softness in life.   If you are interested, please contact us via email and ask for an adoption form.  ccrnewengland@gmail.com    She is ready to go!!! PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Hello my name is Eligible Eli and I was named after the song, “Eli’s a comin’ and hide your heart now…..– well it’s true.  I’m told that I can steal your heart the minute you meet me.  I am a 6 month old Australian Shepherd mix boy pup who is a heap of fun and playfulness.  Right now I weigh 28 lbs, very healthy, and an ideal family dog that is neutered, UTD on all vaccinations, HW preventation, microchipped, and ready for a new home.  A real plus is that I am absolutely wonderful with other dogs and versatile enough to even be the only dog as well.  I am having a blast playing in the fenced back yard with my foster sister and we are really a great tag team of playfulness . The only note is that I need to eat in private so I don’t protect my food from other dogs if you have one.  Just a quirk of mine that I developed early in life.  No big deal.  Only dogs are the ones I protect my food from.  I am vying for you all in attention and love. They say I have the softest  fur and the girls just love to run their fingers through my hair.  Hey I promise to be fun, cuddly, loving and handsome if you pick me to love and cherish.  I will be such a joy to have around because that is important to me.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com    July 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Meet Handsome Cooper.  This beautiful Australian Shepherd is 8 years old and only 24 lbs.  Cooper is a ball of energy and you would never guess that he was more than 3 years old.  He is having the time of his life now that he has a huge fenced in yard where he runs and plays with his foster brothers and sisters.  Cooper came to Critter Cavalry because his mom could no longer take care of him.  This active guy loves people and is great with dogs of all sizes.  He also does not bother the resident cats.  Cooper would enjoy an active family that will take him on walks and hikes.  He would probably enjoy running but with all that fur that should probably not be a summer activity.  He is smart too and would love a family that would teach him things.  He knows how to walk on a leash but does pull a bit.  He is the perfect companion for someone who would like to teach him commands, maybe even agility.  Cooper has lived as an only dog but does enjoy the company of other dogs.  A fenced in yard is a must for this active guy.  Cooper has been neutered, is current on all his shots, heartworm negative, microchipped and he has had a dental.  To be considered for his forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Cooper is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)July 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Friendly Finn is a lucky dog.  You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive.  He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years.  TRUTH!   How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter.   Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown.  He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car.  He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding.  Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park.  We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter.  If you are interested in Fostering or Adopting Finn please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 5, 2024, 12:12 am
