Story
Meet our handsome 4-5 year old Australian Shepherd boy we call Sebastian.   This 60 pound, sweet soul was found as a stray back about the second week of June and he was never claimed by anyone as lost.  He was not microchipped, not neutered and just wanting a place to be loved.  Critter Cavalry Rescue has stepped up to foster him and find the perfect match for this gorgeous boy.  He is heartworm negative and he has been treated for an ear infection and a hot spot that is common during the hot summer months with the long furred dogs.  He is good with other dogs, children and we are cat testing him now.  He is pretty good on a leash and rides well in the car.   He has been several places in the past month and is dealing with feeling a little displaced at times.  This boy is clean, soft, handsome and needing a good place to land with someone that understands the breed and who has a fenced yard for him to explore safety and off leash.  If you love the breed you cannot help but love Sebastian.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and we will be prompt to respond and definitely happy to speak with you on the phone about what he is all about. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 2, 2024, 6:51 pm

Story
Meet Handsome Cooper.  This beautiful Australian Shepherd is 8 years old and only 24 lbs.  Cooper is a ball of energy and you would never guess that he was more than 3 years old.  He is having the time of his life now that he has a huge fenced in yard where he runs and plays with his foster brothers and sisters.  Cooper came to Critter Cavalry because his mom could no longer take care of him.  This active guy loves people and is great with dogs of all sizes.  He also does not bother the resident cats.  Cooper would enjoy an active family that will take him on walks and hikes.  He would probably enjoy running but with all that fur that should probably not be a summer activity.  He is smart too and would love a family that would teach him things.  He knows how to walk on a leash but does pull a bit.  He is the perfect companion for someone who would like to teach him commands, maybe even agility.  Cooper has lived as an only dog but does enjoy the company of other dogs.  A fenced in yard is a must for this active guy.  Cooper has been neutered, is current on all his shots, heartworm negative, microchipped and he has had a dental.  To be considered for his forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Cooper is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)July 2, 2024, 6:51 pm

Story
Scuba is a sweet 6 year old male Australian Shepherd. He is merle with a big fluffy tail! Scuba loves love. He is great with people, animals and children. He might take some time to fully warm up but he is always happy to meet new friends. Scuba truly just needs his person and spent a lot of 1:1 time with his previous owner who sadly passed earlier this year. We are family members who for a myriad of reasons cannot adopt him ourselves and are committed to finding his forever home! We are here for Scuba and the future family until he meets the rainbow bridge! He's in Portland ME where he would often go on pack walks with dogs of various sizes and breeds and gets along with other dogs. He would do great in any household where he got plenty of attention, play and walks but also cannot wait to curl up with you. He has a mild / medium energy, but I would call him a pretty chill dude most of the time. He has a small birth defect in his left eye but has visibility + doesn't bother him!

Story
IN Lincoln, Maine - MAX black is back on the market with Australian Shepherds Furever a 501c3 non profit Located in Maine, this brand new 1 year old just celebrated his Birthday with his sister BEE, and Foster family. MAX is neutered, Chipped, and UTD on all immunizations. We are loving this Boy! He is BRAVE and RESILIENT. Not much stirs MAX up. He LOVES to swim, play disk, car rides, and hiking. But there is so much more to this purebred Australian Shepherd from Tennessee: :Independent (Doesn't require constant entertainment) :Off Switch (Settles down easily) :He walks beautifully on a leash :Has amazing Vet and Grooming Manners :Food motivated and easy to train :Good with my cats and good with my neighbor kiddos. I am confident that he would chase if they run. :Able to redirect and has good impulse control :He is not a barker and does not resource guard. :Crate trained, but rather be in bed with you. :He loves the Fast CAT Lure and been exposed to Agility. :His favorite furry friends are Labradors and Goldens, and calm Aussies. He does not like rude dogs and is selective. He NEEDS guidance meeting new dogs. :He knows: Sit, Down, Off, No, Leave It, Lets Trade, Settle, Bed Time, Load Up, Shake, Hike, Wait, Stay. Max needs exercise daily. At the least, an hour a day. He would prefer to have a strong and experienced leader to help him redirect and make great choices. Max gets aroused in an exciting environment and will nip out of frustration. Like most Aussies, he loves his people and is protective. He needs time to warm up on his own terms. Interested? Keep reading.... Max has a written Training Plan with videos. Access to Sadie's Place - Sniffspot at no charge. Currently getting care at Lincoln Regional Veterinary Hospital and they are amazing to offer to take his new family as a client. Ongoing supportive training for free.
