Story
Sami is a 3.5 year old beagle mix that weighs about 55 pounds. She has been with dogs and cats in her foster home and does well around both. She has lots of energy and is ready to play, but does have fear-based anxiety. Daily medication is required to keep it under control. As are all EARS dogs, Sami is spayed and microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and is on monthly preventatives for heartworm and flea/tick.If interested in welcoming Sami into your family, please submit an adoption application via our website, www.effinghamanimalrescue.com.

Meet **Yukon**, a 6-month-old bundle of joy who's ready to steal your heart! This gorgeous black and tan Australian Shepherd mix is as smart as he is sweet. Yukon is full of energy and loves to play, making him the perfect companion for an active family or someone who enjoys outdoor adventures. True to his Aussie roots, Yukon is highly intelligent and eager to learn. He would thrive in a home that can provide him with plenty of mental stimulation, training, and love. Whether it's a game of fetch, a hike in the woods, or just snuggling on the couch after a fun day, Yukon will be your loyal sidekick every step of the way. Yukon gets along great with other dogs and would do well in a home with a playful canine sibling. He's still a puppy, so he's looking for someone patient and willing to help him grow into the best dog he can be. Story
Clay County Animal Rescue & Shelter is located at 375 Water Elm Lane, Flora, IL. Our phone number is 618-665-3005.  We are renovating our shelter so hours are by appointment only.  The typical adoption fee for dogs is $150.  It includes vaccination, deworming , spay/neuter, heartworm testing on dogs of age and microchipping, which is now mandatory by state law.  Some dogs we discount to as little as $50 due to sponsorship.  Some dogs we ask a higher adoption fee, which helps us recoup expenses on heartworm treatment on other dogs. All cats are spayed/neutered/vaccinated/flea treated/dewormed and microchipped prior to adoption.  Cat adoption fees range from $60-$100.  We spay/neuter/microchip/vaccinate and deworm all kittens and cats, prior to adoption.  Our shyer/less adoptable cats are classed as "barn cats" and are free with a completed/approved barn cat application, which can be found on our website. For updates on adoption events and more pics of pets available, go to our website, www.claycountyshelter.com or look for us on Facebook.   August 7, 2024, 12:15 am
