Another collaboration with Paws for Life K9 and Wings of Rescue to bring in 17 pups and dogs this weekend - mostly all small in stature with ages ranging from 8 weeks through 10 years! What a Doll! Ok, pardon our pun - but Dolly is really a doll! She is estimated to be 1 years old and weighs between 26-28lbs. More information to come soon as she gets settled! We recommend training for all our dogs! **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Evie is new here! Stay tuned for more info on this truly sweet pup! Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog. Hot Toddy is full of energy and happiness. He enjoys playing outside, going for walks, and pouncing through piles of leaves. When playtime is over, his favorite spot is right on your lap or curled by your side for a nap. He’s very loyal and will follow you everywhere like your very own fuzzy shadow. He’s working hard on crate and potty training, as well as learning hand signals, and already sleeps through the night like a pro. Hot Toddy loves everyone he meets: people, pups, and cats alike. Scoob is a 7-month-old Aussie mix who is full of youthful energy and enthusiasm for life. He’s house trained and enjoys having the freedom to choose his favorite sleeping spot around the house rather than being crated. Scoob is a playful, active boy who loves running in the yard, going for walks, chewing on a good bone, and entertaining himself with toys. He would thrive in a home that enjoys an active lifestyle and can help him burn off his energy in healthy, positive ways. Scoob does well with other large dogs and would love a canine friend who can keep up with his playful spirit. Because he has a strong prey drive, a home without cats or small animals is recommended. His energy and size also mean he’s best suited for a home with older children, as he can accidentally knock over little ones when he’s excited. A securely fenced yard is ideal for Scoob since he loves outdoor play and prefers not to potty on a leash or tie-out.
