Lucy has been in a foster home but will be at our shelter hoping to meet you starting on Friday, 12/26. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet her during open hours! Scroll through her pictures to see her videos! Gorgeous and spunky Lucy comes to us all the way from rural west Texas. This southern beauty was found as a stray and fostered by a kind person while awaiting transfer to a rescue up north, where she had better prospects for adoption. We know she will not last long up here! While most dogs would have found the 24 hour journey in a crowded van arduous, and many come off the van in a state of shock, Lucy came off the van ready to meet her fans, and ready to party! She is so confident, it is hilarious how un-fazed she is by much older and much bigger dogs. She has never met a stranger in dog or human form! When Lucy arrived, she promptly got a bath and as if she were not near-perfect enough, she actually has the softest and downiest baby duckling coat! Lucy was lucky enough to go to a foster home with a couple and their senior large breed dog. They write, "Lucy is an incredibly sweet and smart puppy! She loves to chew on bones and do enrichment like a Kong or lick mat. She is extremely treat and praise motivated, so has picked up on tricks like sit very quickly and it’s helped immensely in her housebreaking. She sleeps through the night in her crate, and is really the sweetest girl. She loves to play with our resident dog, Rosa, and then cuddle up next to her for a nap once she gets sleepy. If Rosa isn't in the mood to play Lucy will leave her alone. She also met a couple of the neighborhood dogs on walks and would greet them all friendly and ready to play! Lucy is walking very well on a leash-- though she sometimes thinks the leash is a toy! Whoever adopts this girl will be super lucky and have a best friend for life!" Lucy's adoption fee is $450. She is spayed, and is up to date on core vaccines. She will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age at the adopter's own vet. Since she is a puppy, any adopter should anticipate needing to work on housebreaking and other training using positive reinforcement training only.

All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

This handsome fellow and his siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Big boy is a gentle boy but does love to run and play with other dogs. Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Rye is one of a litter of handsome Aussie and border collie mixes we recently rescued. They were living in a pen outside their entire lives and now are learning about warmth and affection and having fun! Rye is about 8-9 months old and has tons of energy. He loves to play ball, chew on toys, and play chase. He would likely be quite a natural at agility or dog sports. He’s a smart boy and quickly learned “sit” and “come” and is about to conquer “down.” Rye is amazing in his crate. He’s getting the hang of walking nicely on a leash and is doing well with potty training. He really likes to play with other dogs, but he’s concerned they’ll take his food. He’s working on dinner manners and is already starting to get better. Rye would love a home with a physical, fenced yard. It would be great to have an active new human who has experience with smart and energetic herding dogs. He’ll be a great buddy for running, agility, or just playing ball in the backyard.
