Story
GEMMA IS BEING FOSTERED IN BLOOMINGTON IL Meet our precious girl, Gemma, who has MASTERED her puppy dog stare!  Sweet Gemmy NEEDS a hero.  She is a gorgeous black tri female that was found in a stray.  She is approximately 2 years old an is playful with other dogs.  Gemma is a goofy girl, that has a high prey drive, so no kitties, bunnies or other small pets is required for her. However, what she does make up that with providing you with BOUNDLESS cuddles.  She wants nothing more than to spend her time being as close as she can be with her person.  Gemma weighs around 45 lbs, and she is a typical aussie who is active and playful. While she loves a good evening of chilling at home, she equally loves running around the house showing off all her stuffies and squeaky toys!  Gemma is a bit cautious around new people and places, but her foster home has done some nice training work with her in exposing her to new people and new things, providing her with some positive experiences.  She is responding very well to the training and would love to have an adoptive home of her own that would continue this training for her.  She has made TREMENDOUS progress in her foster home, meeting new people, hearing new sounds and experiencing all the world has to offer.  She would do best in a home that is on the quiet side and does not have a lot of visitors.   Gemma is potty trained and crate trained and even puts herself in her kennel at night. She does have excellent house manners and can be left out without any mischief.  Gemma loves toys and bones and shares nicely with her foster brotherr. Fetch and chase are two of her favorite games to play.  Gemma is still learning to enjoy car rides so more positive experiences (pup cups) would be highly recommended.   Gemma is spayed and up-to-date on all shots and preventatives A home without young kids or small animals (cats, bunnies, etc) A physically fenced yard to exercise freely A patient adopter(s) to continue the training and socialization her foster is providing Gemma's WANTS Another social (same sized) dog in the home A quieter home without much coming and going A spot on the couch next to her best friend for life! ##1823568##

Story
Waldo is fostered in Waterford, MI. Hello potential adopters! Quick question.... Do you know the "Where's Waldo?" books with the guy in the red and white sweater? Well, look no further because you just found him! Our Waldo (affectionately called Wally) is way cuter, adorable, and 4-legged! Wally is a standard size, blue merle malewith a bobtail and lots of personality in a 45 lb. package! He is about 14 months old. He came into rescue from an Amish farm.  Wally is an adolescent so that means typical aussie energy and playfulness. Wally enjoys running, playing, and hanging with his foster family. He would love to join you in whatever adventures or outings you would like to include him in. Wally is good with other dogs, so if you have one already, great! If not, no problem. He would enjoy playdates with other dogs if possible.  Wally is potty trained and crate trained. He is smart and eager to learn new things! He would love a family that will engage him in activities that will challenge him mentally and physically and this will also help in creating a bond with him. He also has a silly personality that is irresistible! Wally was a little timid/shy when meeting new people or being in new situations or environments, but he has made a lot of progress accepting and being comfortable with new experiences. Wally would love a more active family looking for their forever fur friend! In return he will be a loyal and lively companion who will bring joy and entertainment to your life!  Does Wally sound like your match? If so, and you would like to chat about or meet Wally, just click on Adopt and fill out the application.  We will be waiting to hear from you! Wally is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm preventatives for all past and current pets is required to be adopted from us. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, see our adoption fees, and find a link to our adoption application.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2130336##

Story
Rowdy is being fostered in West Plains, Missouri. Hello potential adopters! Here’s a question for you. Are you ready to adopt your next forever companion, but you don’t want the commitment of raising a puppy.. like all the potty training in winter... or is an adolescent dog too much for you right now?  Then check out our boy Rowdy! Rowdy is a 6-year-old, 46 lb, standard red merlemale with a bobtail. Please don’t be put off by his age! Think of him in terms of a fine wine, or cheese, or steak; all things that are better once they've had time to age!  Rowdy is just like this.  He has aged to perfection. If Rowdy could talk, we would love to hear his story. What we do know is he was living in his loving home, but his owner passed away unexpectedly a short time after they got him. Rowdy can be a little shy when meeting new people but warms up quickly. Once he gets to know you, he will become your Velcro shadow. He wants to be a lapdog and is always ready to cuddle and snuggle! He can be energetic but has a good off switch and is happy to just hang out and relax with his humans. Rowdy lives with two other dogs (females) and does well with them. He enjoys zoomies around the yard, playing with toys, and interactions with his humans. Have another dog, great!  If not, Rowdy would probably enjoy playdates with other dogs instead. Rowdy would love to have a fenced yard so he could have a space to play; especially with you!  Rowdy has one of the goofiest and funniest personalities that has began to shine once e became comfortable in his foster home.  Rowdy is house trained, potty trained, and crate trained. He knows some basic commands and learns quickly. He is food motivated, which is great for training and is eager and willing to learn new things. We do not know how he is with cats. Because of his initial shyness to meeting new people, he would probably do better with adults or older children. Rowdy is looking for a caring and compassionate home that will continue to build his confidence and understand that he is a bit shy when meeting new people! Is that you? He would love someone who enjoys walks, hanging out, challenging him mentally, training, and playing with him. Rowdy’s got lots of love to give and is waiting for his forever home!  If you would love to give this handsome boy a home or just meet him in person and see all that he has to offer, click on Adopt and fill out the application. We would love to hear from you and will be in touch. Rowdy is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworms for any prior or current pets is required to adopt from our rescue. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2171496##

Story
Woody (now called Frodo) is fostered in Sioux City, Iowa. Hello potential adopters! Drum roll please...introducing the handsomest, smartest, aussome boy- Frodo! Just like the character in "Lord of the Rings" this aussie hobbit is happiest living with his family and his pure, incorruptible heart sets him apart. Frodo is a standard size Black Tri with a bobtail. He is a great age (between 2-3 years old) and weighs about 38 lbs.  Frodo lived in apartment with 2 larger dogs, and it wasn't an ideal situation to meet his needs. He is a young boy with typical aussie energy. His current foster home has a fenced yard (Need) where he plays with his foster brother. While they get along and enjoy playing together Frodo would be fine being an only dog. He loves humans better! Frodo is house trained and crate trained. He is very smart and a quick learner! Frodo knows 'sit', 'shake', 'off', and 'kennel'. He is eager to please and loves food. He has good leash walking manners and generally doesn't pull. He is an alert barker letting you know about suspicious things. Frodo can be a bit reserved when meeting new people or dogs, but yummy treats are helping with this! He does warm up to women quicker than men. He loves apples, tomatoes, peppers, & broccoli! Frodo lives with a resident cat who is used to dogs. He has joined his foster brother in chasing the cat, so a home with a cat would just depend on the cat. He can get a little enthusiastic while playing so adults or older children would be better. Frodo would love a family on the active side. He loves car rides and behaves well in public, long sniff walks, playing and running around in the yard, snuggles, belly rubs, and hanging out with his family. In true aussie fashion he is a Velcro shadow who will follow you everywhere...including the bathroom!! He would love a spot with you in the bed, but will sleep in his crate!  Are you interested in this cutie pie? Frodo is neutered, microcipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm prevention.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. Story
Koda is being fostered in Salem WI Jolly Boy Koda! Koda is an energetic, approximately 4-year-old, 50-pound blue merle bob tail Australian Shepherd boy. Who could resist those beautiful eyes and cute head tilts? Koda is more than just handsome, he has a great personality. Koda has all the qualities of being playful, loving and energetic. Koda is always looking for love and affection. There is no such thing as personal space! Koda would spend every hour of the day with his person, if he could, loving on them and being loved on. Though if he needs to have his own space, he does great in crates and in a fenced in yard. Koda also takes his attention off people when he has other dog friends to play with. He's a bit of a bubbly athlete. He is always happy to run around and play. Running outside in the yard is one of his favorite things. Koda does need some extra practice on the leash.  Anything stimulating and engaging are great for this energetic boy. Koda is very smart, he has great recall, knows “sit”, crate trained and potty trained. Koda is always willing to learn more. Fortunately, he takes his cue from his person and responds well to direction. Koda is also very food motivated and will do anything for food! He would probably be AUSSOME at a dog sport or even doing tricks!  Koda can be a bit of a fast eater, so a slow feeder would be best to prepare meals in. He has good house manners. He does well in his crate and sleeps in it at night and when no-one is home.  With some time to get used to a new environment and bonding with his family, he will be able to spend more time out of his crate alone or with his folks at night. Koda has been friendly with cats and will occasionally show interest by running up to them to say HELLO! Koda is ready to keep learning and find his forever humans. He’s an Aussie looking for a confident coach to lead him into the best years of his life. He came to us after his previous home recognized that they were not capable of meeting the needs of a typical dynamic, spirited Australian Shepherd. Mental and physical stimulation and continued socialization will unlock all Koda's best qualities. Active folks who love Aussie awesomeness will compliment Koda well. He is the dog for someone with an energetic lifestyle who sees a pup as a family member to bring along and hang out with.  What is Koda seeking in his Forever Home?  Koda's person(s) should be active, have herding dog or similar breed experience and confidence to meet the needs and the traits of an Aussie. They see continued training and a lifetime of engaging their dog as a natural part of having a canine family member. Koda prefers a fence, but it may not be necessary for the right active, experienced home. Koda would welcome another dog about his size who appreciates his style of play.  Introductions with new people, places, and pets MUST be slow and monitored.  Does this jolly boy make your heart burst with joy? The first step is to fill out an application at the link below to be considered as a possible adopter. (Only COMPLETELY answered applications will be considered.)  Read the bio carefully. Priority is given to the pup's needs in choosing the adopter to ensure a happy forever. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2217257##

Story
Shimmer (now called Luna) is fostered in St. Peters, MO (STL MO area).   Hello potential Adopters! Do you enjoy all the different phases of the moon at night? How cool would it be to have your own moon to enjoy all the time? Well, you can! Meet our beautiful girl, Luna, whose name translates to moon! Luna is a standard size black tri with a bobtail. She is a young girl at 3 years old and weighs 40 lbs. Luna came into foster as a stray so not a lot is known about her previous experiences or background.Luna has made so much progress learning to live in a home and continues to learn more every day. She lives with other dogs and plays well with them. She also enjoys playing by herself tossing toys around-over and over.  Luna can be skittish with loud noises. Human sneezes scare her, and she will run. We are working with her on her noise sensitivities and she will need her new family to be patient and understanding while continuing her progress. She can be shy meeting new people but she warms up quickly. Once you're friends she loves to be close to you and will be your shadow. Luna is house trained and crate trained. She has gotten into things and counter-surfed in the past, but her foster home continues to work on this. She loves walks, car rides, attention from her family, and playing fetch with her foster dad. We do recommend a fenced yard for her. She is learning leash walking skills but she will pull if she smells something good! Luna would like a quieter home where she can have time to adjust and the opportunity to become part of your family. Because of her initial shyness with strangers or new people Luna would enjoy a home with adults and older children (12 and up).  Do you think our 'moon' dog is a match for you? Would you like to chat about or meet her? Click Adopt under her picture and fill out the application. We hope to talk to you soon! Shimmer is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations.  She is also receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  If you have what Shimmer needs, please visit our website to find out information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2182294##

Story
Meet Lincoln....... Lincoln is an adorable young boy, thought to be a Border Collie Mix. Like Border Collies, he’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At age 9 months, he weighs 38 lbs. It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of his adult weight, but our best guess is about 40ish lbs. This handsome boy joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. He is thought to have been born around December 23, 2022. He was a scared little puppy when entering our rescue program but has come out of his shell and has evolved into a playful, sociable, and somewhat mischievous boy. Lincoln is great with dogs outside of his foster home, but can be protective of his home and human, indoors. Most likely Lincoln would prefer being an only dog, receiving all the attention he deserves. However he could to ok with a calm easy-going female. He would probably be far too energetic for a senior (dog or human!) An ideal family for Lincoln is one able to assimilate the energy of a young boy into its lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Lincoln to be his best self! A secure, above-ground fenced yard is important. Lincoln would not thrive as an apartment dweller. Lincoln is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative. He is neutered and microchipped as well. . For information about adding this adorable boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the far NW suburbs of Chicago and adopts local to this area.

Story
Libby is sure a unique-looking young girl; how can anyone not love her huge ears!! She is thought to be an Australian Kelpie Mix (possibly with Bull Terrier). She weighs about 30 lbs. Her estimated date of birth is June 5th 2023. Libby is a typical puppy, very energetic and playful. She likes to jump and can sometimes forget herself and be a little too rough with other dogs. But….…she is young and needs to learn boundaries and manners in order to evolve into a wonder family member with a forever family she so deserves.. This sweet pup likes playing with other dogs; she’s great with dogs and would enjoy the companionship of another dog in the home. Most likely, a young or middle-aged adult dog would prefer his company much more so than a senior dog. An ideal family for Libby is one able to assimilate the enthusiasm and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Libby to be her best self! A secure fenced yard is required; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family could also be advantageous. Libby is crate-trained and is working hard to improve her house manners (housebreaking). She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Her spay is included in her adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable girl to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.
