Story
Hi, my name is Ginger, I am a 5 year old mini Australian Shepherd- on the small size around 30 pounds. I am looking for a forever home. My foster mom says I am a sweetheart and I am happiest sitting by her and getting cuddles. My favorite things are my stuffed "babies", ice cubes, attention, and treats. While I live in a home with cats and dogs, they are not my favorite, I would rather have my person and toys all to myself. I am potty trained and will go outside. I will "hang" with the boy dogs in the house, but I won't share any of the toys. I am shy and get scared easily, it takes me a while to feel safe around humans. Looking for a quiet home with a human who will love me and make me feel safe if there are loud noises or thunder storms. Are you my human?  Ginger's adoption fee is $300. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped with registration, heartworm tested negative and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. If interested please apply at gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/ ##2195290##

Story
ViolaMini- Australian Shepherd/mixViola is a recent transfer from a local shelter, so we are just getting to know her. What we know so far is that this petite little girl is sweet and seems to love everyone she meets. At just 8 months old, she will need all the typical training that comes with having a puppy, but this girl is eager to learn. If interested in meeting Viola, go to tapsshelter.org and apply.

Story
CJ is hanging out in a foster home. Check out what they had to say about his first few days home: "We've really enjoyed fostering him so far. He's very calm and gentle. He loves to climb into a lap and snuggle up for pets until he falls asleep. He's so good with our son too. One of his cutest habits is finding any human in the house, getting as close as possible, then sitting down and waiting for pets. His speedy little tail wags will melt your heart. He's also managed to navigate our home surprisingly well and is steadily becoming more confident with stairs." All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Meet Sam, a sweet-as-sugar, 1-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd who weighs about 20 pounds. With her soft coat and soulful eyes, she’s the perfect blend of playful energy and snuggle buddy. Sam loves her backyard zoomies, often showing off her signature spinning and jumping moves like a seasoned pro. After her fun, she transforms into the ultimate lap dog, ready to snooze or simply enjoy your company. Whether it’s a quick walk, playtime with doggy pals, or lounging on the couch, she’s happiest by your side. Snack time is another favorite, and she’s a gentle treat-taker who’s always polite and grateful. Sam can be a little shy when meeting new people or pets, sometimes ducking her head as if unsure. But with a little patience (and maybe a treat), she quickly warms up into the friendly, playful, and loving pup her foster family adores. She’s met kids of all ages, other dogs, and even cats, and she’s charmed every single one. Nearly house-trained, Sam thrives with a regular routine. She sleeps quietly in her crate all night and uses gentle whines to let you know when she needs a potty break or a bit of attention. While she may feel a little anxious when left alone, she calms herself quickly and settles down like a champ. Sammy would thrive in any loving home, whether it’s a bustling household with kids and pets or a quieter environment. She’s adaptable, eager to please, and just needs a week to adjust to her new surroundings. With plenty of praise and consistency, she’ll shine as the best girl you could ask for. If you’re ready for zoomies, snuggles, and a lifelong shadow who adores you, Sam is waiting to meet you!  Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
