Meet Dax! Dax is a male, 2 year old, Australian Shepherd mix. He is 64 pounds.Dax arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender. He is described as a super playful and friendly pup! He will need some time to warm up and decompress in his new forever home. Dax will greatly benefit from training and socialization! He is a cute boy who is ready to go home!Dax will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. Story
Sadie is a 2-year-old, 45lb, full-bred Mini Aussie who was born with juvenile cataracts. While her vision is affected, it hasn't worsened, and she still runs around the yard with no issues. Sadie is playful, affectionate, and loves giving kisses. She is up-to-date on all vaccinations, spayed, and both crate and house trained. She knows basic commands like “sit” and “stay.” We have three other dogs—another male Mini Aussie, and two smaller female dogs—and two young children in our home. There have been two occasions where Sadie nipped my oldest son while he was trying to hug her from behind while she was sleeping. One of these incidents resulted in an ear injury requiring stitches. Additionally, Sadie has physically responded when challenged by my small female dog, who growled at her. Sadie would thrive in a home with medium-sized dogs and without young children. While she is a great dog, she needs an environment where she feels safe and can live her best life.
