Story
Meet Mowgli, a 12 year old Mini Australian Shepherd mix, approximately weighing 24 pounds. Despite his age, Mowgli has a youthful spirit that is infectious. Adopting Mowgli means gaining a loyal companion who will shower you with unconditional love. His warm personality and friendly nature make him the perfect pet for any home. Mowgli will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We don’t know how he will do with cats.Mowgli is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and ready to go home today!

Story
Meet Jax! He is the sweetest boy who just wants to run around and be free. As much as I love him, my family has a very busy life and just can’t give him the lifestyle he craves and needs. I can’t take the guilt anymore. We also recently moved and no longer have a backyard space for him. He is definitely a lover of the outdoors. However, he is also a laid back dog that likes to lay around too. He is potty and crate trained. He is fixed and up to date on all his shots. I’m hoping to rehome him, to a home that will love him, spend time with him and let him express his adventures side. He grew up around another dog, but generally does not do well with other dogs, as he is very territorial and protective. I would not suggest taking him to a dog park. He would thrive on a large property with plenty of space to roam. He’s never been around livestock, so I am not sure how he would react.

Story
Meet Bob Tail Bear! He is an adorable 10 -12-week-old puppy, and we think he may be an Australian Shepherd / Lab mix; his cute little nub tail gives him some Aussie Character! Watch Bob Tail's video here: Bob Tail Bear is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. He loves to play and then take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat - such is puppy life! He loves to play with toys and the bigger dogs in his foster home. He even tries to play with the cranky cat! Bob Tail Bear is still young, so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization, and all the dedication puppyhood requires. His new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect for going on walks and hikes or showing off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
The mama (Mabel), was surrendered while pregnant. She was put into a foster home where she gave birth to 7 puppies. Jethro is one of the adorable short legged ones, inheriting his grandma's dachshund legs. He is friendly and smart, though may be a little shy and afraid in new situations. He warms up pretty quick. ##2296769##

Story
Bruce is a year old male Australian Shepard. He is a wonderful, smart dog with a silly personality. He loves other dogs, no experience around cats or other animals. He currently lives with one dog and two small children and does very well with them. He has a lot of energy and thrives outside, which is why we are searching out a home that can better accommodate him. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide him a yard and despite my best efforts to give him as much outdoor time/exercise he is frustrated leading to unwanted appeasement behavior; despite being fully potty trained he will urinate by the front door when he is frustrated. I will happily go into details and discuss with anyone interested. He is very much loved and wanted, I just feel that if there were a more suitable outdoor living situation for him, I have to consider it. Please contact for more information

Story
**AVAILABLE!** This is Madeline's much awaited available post! Madeline is a purebred Australian Shepherd approximately 2 to 3 years old. She is a (now) spayed female weighing 50 lb. We rescued Madeline from an overcrowded shelter out of Logan, Utah. She had been surrendered by owners who surrendered her as an intact male named Bo. 🤦 Imagine our surprise halfway through the transport when our wonderful friend Hannah who overnighted this bunch, discovered that Bo is a Beatrice! A female! 🤣 We have further discovered that she had more than likely suffered a traumatic injury to the left side of her head at some point, rupturing her eardrum. Yesterday, while she was under being spayed, our vet did some exploratory in that ear and found a bunch of debris way down in the canal wedged up against a healing eardrum, which she removed. There is no infection and it looks like the tympanic membrane is healing. The head tilt and circling to the left should dissipate in time. She is also an alpha female, and starts fights readily. But as you can see from the video if you have a balanced pack or even a balanced dog, and aren't crazy like me, she does just fine. I suspect some of the fights are caused by dogs that are uncomfortable with her approach with the tilted head and the circling and she's kind of a bumbler. If they growl the fight is on. She's no slouch! She is very comfortable in a crate, seems to be very housebroken. Hasn't had a single accident. She's not destructive, doesn't chew anything up. She is an excited/alert barker and has a very loud voice, but she does stop on command. She's probably not the best choice for a first-time dog owner, and I'm seeking someone with some herding dog experience. She's not a particularly active Aussie, but these dogs do benefit, mentally and physically, from some vigorous daily exercise. She's a very sweet dog, likes everybody she's met and could care less about the cat and chickens.
