Story
Here is your blank slate! Blank Slate is defined as "something with no existing restraints that can be freely developed". Amie comes to us from a rural animal shelter where she was brought in as a stray. We can't believe someone wasn't looking for this girl. Thanks to some awesome volunteers, Amie was delivered to us via small aircraft (see photo). Thank you to Pilots N Paws! We are estimating her age at 10 or 11 months, she weighs 26 pounds. We really aren't sure of her breed mix, but do see some Shetland sheepdog and possibly some corgi in her. Her groomer commented that her fur is very similar to an Australian shepherd's fur. Amie is resilient and learns quickly! When she arrived to her foster home, she really knew nothing, not even "sit". So everything is new to this girl. Her foster mom is working on crate training and house training. Amie rides well in the car now and will load right up into her travel crate. Amie gets along with other dogs and likes to play chase. We are not sure how she is with cats. Amie is going to need a family that can help her learn all the things. She is very much still a puppy and loves interacting with her foster family. She will be a rewarding project for the right family. She's an active dog and will need daily exercise and mental stimulation. Amie loves working for treats and is already retrieving for us (see video). Amie's adoption fee is $350 and includes, spay, vaccines and microchip. If you are interested in meeting Amie, please complete an adoption application located here: https://idawg.org/application.html .

Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt Meet Atka! This sweet loving puppy is one of Alaska's babies who came to us in a time of need. Poor mama was found with her little pups and needed saving on the streets of Texas. Since heading to foster care Atka has mastered puppy life! She has potty training down, is a professional napper, and plays all day with the dogs and kids in her foster home. She would love to be in a home with kids or other dogs to learn from and grow with. Atka's mom is 33 lbs, so we expect her to be medium sized. She has a lot of energy, so she will benefit from an active lifestyle. If this little sweetie looks like the perfect puzzle piece to your home please apply! Spay, microchip, and current vaccines are included in the adoption fee. Atka is based in Boise, but is available for direct adoption throughout the PNW with transport included at no extra charge. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Meet Ember! This adorable little girl was found as a stray on the streets of South Texas. She was saved by local rescuers and taken to foster care where she has been having a blast being part of a family. Ember is healthy, happy, and energetic. She is 6-7 months old, and does well with dogs, cats, and kids. Ember's ideal new life will include her as part of the family where she can go for adventures, learn basic training, and make lots of new friends. Due to lack of foster homes, Ember will be with her foster family in South Texas until she has adoption interest in the PNW. Story
Liz, aka Lady Elizabeth, is an Australian Kelpie mix. She is approximately 3 years old and about 36 lbs. Liz is highly inquisitive and just the sweetest bundle of joy. We love this dog’s intensity. She is going to need an active family and lifestyle. She is a tough, resilient little dog. She is intelligent, eager and enthusiastic. Liz is great with other dogs! Though as an extremely social lady she occasionally gets a bit bossy, this results in her trying to herd her pals. She LOVES to play with her foster sister (a very dominant herder herself). They enjoy wrestling and will zoom around the yard with toys playing chase. Liz is housetrained and crate trained. She rides well in the car and loves going places with you. This social girl loves all people, occasionally is a little shy at first with strangers, but warms up quickly. We don’t know how Liz is with cats and she is probably a little too intense for young children. When Liz first came into rescue we noticed she was having trouble with one of her back legs, possibly from a previous injury. In November she had hip surgery (modified femoral head ostectomy) and is now fully recovered and has been released by her surgeon. This has not slowed Lizzie down at all, but due to this she is not a candidate for competing in agility. She would be great at other dog sports! It doesn’t impede her hiking and she doesn’t require medication or follow ups! When asked to sum up living with Liz, many things came to mind. I will miss her! She’s just a delight, cute and cuddly, rather an expert snuggler, but always up for a walk or play session. Her best characteristic is her happy energy. She enjoys her routine and will benefit from sticking to a more active life style. Since her surgery, she’s gotten even braver and her hilarious antics are going to light up someone’s life. She loves my female the most. They are always playing or cuddling. She’s hiked with a lot of my friends larger dogs and did fantastically (malamutes and vizslas). Definitely worth noting she is a passionate chewer. It brings her such joy! She can be a bit destructive with her chewing so we are mindful of things left on the floor. (We’ve only lost one slipper and after a redirect she has been the perfect house guest). She is insanely fast at learning and will just need some time to acclimate to her new home! She will come with some of her favorite toys! Elizabeth is a really easy keeper. She’s a true darling with the sweetest disposition. She deserves the best life! Liz's adoption fee is $350. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. If you are interested in possibly adopting Liz, please complete an adoption application located here: https://idawg.org/application.html

Story
Lizzy is a border collie, about 10 years old, and worked on a ranch with my parents. My father passed away and my mother sold the ranch and moved to town. She is unable to keep Lizzy where she lives. My husband and I have had Lizzy through the summer. She is settled where we are but she isn't happy. She is very uncomfortable coming inside the house. We have 2 other dogs, and a dog door, but she won't come in with them, even when coaxed. While on the ranch, she roamed 1000's of acres but has adjusted to our back yard well. She use to work with my dad, move cows, ride on the 4-wheeler or run along side of it. She got caught in a trap a few years ago and broke her front paw. She still runs on it but I know that it hurts her. For that reason, I think she should be at least a semi-retired cow dog. Lizzy would be happiest with an older person, maybe with a barn she could sleep in. She is friendly and well behaved. She doesn't like cats or being brushed. She is a sweet dog.
