Story
Meet Kali! This 7-year-old mini Australian Shepherd weighs approximately  20 lbs, and is ready to find a loving adopter who's ready to make her a new bff. Kali needs to be the only dog in the home. If interested, get ready for butt wiggles and kisses!  General Behavior: Kaliis a sweet Aussie who needs time to settle in to a new home. She is very cautious and shy at first, but once she realizes she’s okay, she loves to give kisses and wiggle her tiny tail whenever she sees you! Kali is a loving dog to her female human companion but she is initially wary of men (she will warm up to them eventually). Kali is a really wonderful pup who will thrive from patience and one-on-one time with her person/persons. Likes & Dislikes:Kali is an active gal who loves to run in the back yard and to roll in the grass - she requires a secure fenced yard for her time outdoors, where she loves to bask and play. Kali enjoys the pool, but she is new to swimming and would need constant supervision near pool-time, of course. Kali also loves treats and is given soft food as a treat - it's her favorite. Kali would prefer a female-only household, since she gives her trust much easier to women, any males visiting the home need to understand she may never be ready to approach them or be pet by them. She should not be forced to interact with men unless she initates contact. She doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body and goes to her safe space when feeling uncertain. With time, patience, kindess, space and love, she will warm up to men, but she is most comfortable with women in her circle. Training: Kali is housetrained when on a regular schedule and she is a very quiet girl who generally has good basic manners. She will walk on a leash but is terrified of anyone/dog/noise when out of the security of her fenced yard. She tolerates car rides. She is learning the wonder of toys, so be ready with ropes and plushies! She is very food motivated, so treats are always a win in her book. Medical: Kali is a healthy girl! She just needs her monthly flea and heartworm preventatives. Other Animals: Kali must be in a home where she is the only dog. She has lived with another dog in foster care but she is "dog selective" and sometimes gets jealous of another dog in the home getting close to her person, so being an only pet would be ideal. No felines for this girl, as she likes to chase them. Children: Kali needs a home without children and a lot of commotion. She is nervous with sudden movements or loud, unfamiliar noises and will hide if she's feeling overwhelmed. A quiet home with a laid-back lifestyle is what Kali is looking for and hoping to find. Maybe a retiree that's looking for a quiet, loving companion - Kali is your girl! Home: Kali's ideal home is a single family dwelling with a securely fenced yard. Strange noises scare her, so she needs space of her own without strangers or other animals intruding and startling her. She loves outdoor time to run, explore, sniff the fresh air and play.  Grooming: Kali will need regular grooming to maintain her beautiful Aussie coat, along with regular baths and nail cuts. She is ok with being gently picked up and she stays on the bathroom counter for grooming like a lady. Grooming for Kali should be considered in any new family's ongoing budget to make sure she stays on top of her spa days, keeping her looking and feeling good. Overall: Kali truly has so much love to give; she needs someone loving, patient and kind who will understand that time is the key to her precious heart.  Are you ready for someone who would love you with her whole heart? Kali would love to love you! To find the application to adopt, visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, had her teeth cleaned and she's spayed. The adoption donation for Kali has been reduced thanks to a generous grant from Kia and the Petfinder Foundation, and is $250. ##1546824##

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Leesburg, FL Meet Ripley! He is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs around 50 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Ripley is fearful of strangers! He is good with cats! He hasn’t been tested around younger children. No older children or dogs, due to his reactivity! He is housebroken and crate-trained. Ripley hasn’t had much socialization and is scared of everything. He will need his next home to be with a patient adopter who can help with his training. He resource guards his kennel and almost nipped strangers who visited his old home. His previous owner recently passed away. The current owner is surrending him because they are trying to find a new home for him. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Ripley, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Ripley. Owner’s Contact Information: Kelli at kelli.jarman3@gmail.com.

Story
Eco is an 8-month-old female Australian Shepherd mix weighing 23 pounds. She is both very loving and sweet. She gets along with the other dogs but have not been cat or child tested. She does not walk on a leash so he would do require a home with a fenced in yard. We are working on house training her. She loves to run and play in the yard. The adoption donation for Eco is $250 which includes her spay, vaccinations and microchip. She is still too young to be heartworm tested. She has so much love to give so please come to meet her. We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. We have a page on our website that explains our adoption process, and contains a link to our adoption application. Story
We adopted Snickers as a puppy from a rescue Snickers is a great dog, and he loves kids. He is about 9 years old. He is warry of strangers, but has come a long way. When he was younger he demonstrated a lot of anxiety around other dogs, but he is doing great now as we have spent a lot of time socializing him. He is crate trained. He has had shots, but is due for new ones now. We are also rehoming our female mix (shepard, huskey, beagle,???) Dakota is about 3 or 4, is not neutered and does not have shots due to extreme anxiety. The vet would not do anything with her when I took her. I believe that it would be possible now. She is very skittish, but loveable and not aggressive (she is a licker). She can also clear a 6 ft. fence despite being about a foot and a half tall. She only jumps the fence when she hears us out front and wants to go back into the house. She does not like to stay outside preferring to be inside. She is pretty bonded with Snickers for her anxiety.

Story
Gemini Zod is a charismatic Aussie mix with a unique blend of charm and energy. This adorable pup came to us initially shy and scared, but it took just a couple of days for him to reveal the true star within. Gemini Zod has transformed into an outgoing and charismatic companion. His big personality shines through, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Gemini Zod enjoys an extremely active lifestyle. His love for walking, chasing after a ball, and indulging in some bone-chewing sessions is truly delightful to witness. But the real show-stopper is when he decides it's time for zoomies – his playful sprints and twists are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Gemini Zod is seeking a home that appreciates his lively spirit and is ready to provide the love and engagement he craves.  HE IS EXTREMELY PEOPLE SELECTIVE AND MUST GO TO A VERY EXPERIENCED ADOPTER. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Story
Longest resident!!! Daisy Mae has been waiting THREE YEARS for a home of her own.  Daisy Mae is a 7-year-old, 75 lb, Border Collie/Heeler mix looking for her forever family. She is UTD, spayed, microchipped and housebroken. Daisy Mae is medium energy and would love a family to relax with after going on walks and chasing balls. She is good with dogs her size or larger but not good with small dogs and not good with cats, and prefers no children. Daisy can be prone to UTI's so she takes a cranberry supplement to help prevent them. She has been known to guard items of high value and would benefit from an active and experienced family that has previous experience with resource guarding behaviors. Training will be provided at no cost to her new family to help ensure her success. She has experienced a lot of improvement with these issues and would thrive in an adult only home able to provide the structure she needs. Daisy Mae has to find her new forever home because she currently lives with a toddler and needs to be in a home without children under the age of 16 yrs old due to resource guarding behaviors. Daisy's ideal home would be an adult only home that is open to participating in training to make some minor resource guarding issues easier to manage. She is a well-trained, medium energy companion that would make an amazing pet. Please note, Daisy Mae is part of Happy Trails Animal Rescue’s rehoming program. Information provided is based on their current guardian’s statements and limited interaction with volunteers. They are not under the care of the rescue. They are under the care of their current guardian. The owner is subject to placement outside of our organization. We cannot guarantee availability. Adoption fee REDUCED: $ 75 ##1177999##

Story
Stella is a 4 year old, active, driven pure bred Border Collie. She needs to be the only pet in the home but is not reactive to seeing or meeting other animals out and about, she just doesn't share well inside the home. She is housebroken and very well behaved at home. She is a petite size for a Border Collie and has a smooth/shorter coat. She is active and needs an active home. Breed experience would be a huge plus but not required if you're active and have had prior dog owning experience. Adoption fee $150. Vaccinated and spayed. ##2083314##
