I came to Big Dog Ranch as a breeder release after spending my whole life in heartbreaking conditions, used over and over for puppies and rarely touched with kindness. I don’t know what it feels like to be part of a family, and I’ve never even had a leash clipped onto me. The world outside my cage is completely new and sometimes scary. It may take me months to understand that hands can be gentle and homes can be safe, but deep down I’m hoping someone will give me the patience and love I’ve never had. We are looking to responsibly rehome our one-year-old Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog Mix due to safety concerns with children. He is NOT suitable for a home with kids, which is the sole reason for this difficult decision. He is currently intact, with a neuter scheduled for January 16th, 2026. He has been professionally trained since 5 months of age, including obedience and behavior work, using positive e-collar training. He is fully potty trained, crate trained, obedience trained, and muzzle conditioned. He is a highly intelligent, driven dog who would do best in a kid-free home with an experienced handler. We are working on boundary and resource guarding training exercises daily. He thrives with structure, consistency, and continued training. We are seeking a loving, committed home that understands working breeds and is willing to continue his training and provide clear leadership. Meeka is small petite for her breeds! She has done some advanced training doing public outings at restaurants and hospitals to see if she could pass for a service dog. She could she alerts for breathing and PTSD and she is calm when under vest. She is NOT calm when at home or out of vest. She has a high drive and will calm down in the home or the crate and she does do excellent in a crate. She is just a super super intelligent girl and would be perfect to finish her out. We were going to put her through our project max SD program but we had some family loss and trauma and I put her off too long and need to play catch up with other program dogs.
