Story
Eli is a 6.5 year old Aussie who his people made the hard decision to surrender after he began nipping their toddler. They worked with trainers and don’t believe the behavior was intended to harm their child, but herding instead. Despite their best efforts, nothing was able to change his behavior. They reached out to us over a month ago and drove all the way from Georgia to find a rescue they believed would do right by him and keep him in a low-stress environment. We haven’t known Eli long but from what we have seen and have been told about him, he’s a super sweet and loving boy and should have no trouble finding a new forever home! As long as there are no small children, he’s the perfect dog! He’s crate trained, house trained, and has basic obedience. He’s very food motivated but due to his weight we recommend keeping extra snacks to a minimum. He’s friendly to all humans and good with smaller dogs. He’s good with bigger dogs too after a proper introduction, but he’s a bit fearful of them at first. Cats and other small animals a no-no though. He does need to lose some weight, but aside from that Eli is totally healthy and ready to be adopted! He’s microchipped, neutered, UTD on his vaccines, prevention, heartworm tested negative, and has a negative fecal test.

Story
30 loves to lie in close proximity to people. She is indifferent to other pets. She does not like kids. She exhibits herding behavior. Our main reason for rehoming 30 is she has severe separation anxiety. 30 is fully house trained, however her separation anxiety leads to accidents in the house. With very odd hours and an extremely adventurous lifestyle, 30 often finds herself alone. We have attempted to get her animal companions, but we have found that she has no attachment to them. We would like to change this by finding her a good fit for her. 30 is 7 years old. Her name comes from her being a gift for my wife's 30th birthday. She understands and responds to most common commands.

Story
Meet Kali! This 7-year-old mini Australian Shepherd weighs approximately  20 lbs, and is ready to find a loving adopter who's ready to make her a new bff. Kali needs to be the only dog in the home. If interested, get ready for butt wiggles and kisses!  General Behavior: Kaliis a sweet Aussie who needs time to settle in to a new home. She is very cautious and shy at first, but once she realizes she’s okay, she loves to give kisses and wiggle her tiny tail whenever she sees you! Kali is a loving dog to her female human companion but she is initially wary of men (she will warm up to them eventually). Kali is a really wonderful pup who will thrive from patience and one-on-one time with her person/persons. Likes & Dislikes:Kali is an active gal who loves to run in the back yard and to roll in the grass - she requires a secure fenced yard for her time outdoors, where she loves to bask and play. Kali enjoys the pool, but she is new to swimming and would need constant supervision near pool-time, of course. Kali also loves treats and is given soft food as a treat - it's her favorite. Kali would prefer a female-only household, since she gives her trust much easier to women, any males visiting the home need to understand she may never be ready to approach them or be pet by them. She should not be forced to interact with men unless she initates contact. She doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body and goes to her safe space when feeling uncertain. With time, patience, kindess, space and love, she will warm up to men, but she is most comfortable with women in her circle. Training: Kali is housetrained when on a regular schedule and she is a very quiet girl who generally has good basic manners. She will walk on a leash but is terrified of anyone/dog/noise when out of the security of her fenced yard. She tolerates car rides. She is learning the wonder of toys, so be ready with ropes and plushies! She is very food motivated, so treats are always a win in her book. Medical: Kali is a healthy girl! She just needs her monthly flea and heartworm preventatives. Other Animals: Kali must be in a home where she is the only dog. She has lived with another dog in foster care but she is "dog selective" and sometimes gets jealous of another dog in the home getting close to her person, so being an only pet would be ideal. No felines for this girl, as she likes to chase them. Children: Kali needs a home without children and a lot of commotion. She is nervous with sudden movements or loud, unfamiliar noises and will hide if she's feeling overwhelmed. A quiet home with a laid-back lifestyle is what Kali is looking for and hoping to find. Maybe a retiree that's looking for a quiet, loving companion - Kali is your girl! Home: Kali's ideal home is a single family dwelling with a securely fenced yard. Strange noises scare her, so she needs space of her own without strangers or other animals intruding and startling her. She loves outdoor time to run, explore, sniff the fresh air and play.  Grooming: Kali will need regular grooming to maintain her beautiful Aussie coat, along with regular baths and nail cuts. She is ok with being gently picked up and she stays on the bathroom counter for grooming like a lady. Grooming for Kali should be considered in any new family's ongoing budget to make sure she stays on top of her spa days, keeping her looking and feeling good. Overall: Kali truly has so much love to give; she needs someone loving, patient and kind who will understand that time is the key to her precious heart.  Are you ready for someone who would love you with her whole heart? Kali would love to love you! To find the application to adopt, visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, had her teeth cleaned and she's spayed. The adoption donation for Kali has been reduced thanks to a generous grant from Kia and the Petfinder Foundation, and is $250. ##1546824##

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- St. Petersburg, FL Parker is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 40 lbs. He is up to date on shots, but isn’t neutered or on heartworm prevention. Parker is nervous around strangers! He is good with children and dogs! He hasn’t been tested around cats. Parker has bitten the owner twice and his wife once. The first time he bit the owner was in November 2023. The owner went to pick up a toy while Parker was under a chair, which led to Parker biting his left foot. Parker also bit his wife on a separate occasion while she was petting him on the couch. She tried to push him away and he bit her left arm. The most recent bite was on 6/12/24. The owner came home late. Parker was sitting in the hallway against the wall. The owner tried getting close to him, resulting Parker biting his left hand. The owner is surrendering him because of these bite incidents. They’re also expecting a baby. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Parker, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Parker. Owner’s Contact Information: Rodrigo at rodoliveirarealtor@gmail.com.
