Story
This is Diego. He's an 11 month old Aussie mix that needs a foster home. He was a "free dog" online and the original owners did not represent him honestly with the new owners. Things are not working out and he needs to be properly placed (after full vetting). He is scheduled dor neuter on Tuesday. We hope to have a foster in place by then. He's great with his people and FEMALE dogs. His behavior around cats is unknown because the family does not have cats. There was a pretty bad fight between Diego and the senior male dog in this family. Since the fight the family has been distrusting of his behavior around the four-year-old as well so to be safe they have kept them separate. This is why he has to go. For this reason, we do not want him fostered with male dogs until he has been vetted and properly evaluated. We also do not feel that he should be placed in a home with young children until vetting and evaluation. He's a beautiful boy and deserves a happily ever after. We can help him find it!! It may well be he just needs his testosterone to be taken care of. Many dogs settle down after neuter and it's never fair to these animals when the original owners do not divulge all the information to the new owners. We feel this is a combination of situations that has just worked against Diego. Foster application can be filled out through this link: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/31711/generic If you fill out a foster application please give our director a heads up as we do not have a volunteer readily responding to applications at this time. It helps us to know that one has been submitted. You may text Aspen at 352-843-6858 ##1357659##

Story
Charlie is a good boy. He has a lot going for him!! *Basic obedience *Housebroken *Good with kids *Good with dogs *Neutered *Up to Date on Vax *Australian Shepherd mix Charlie really doesn't have any strikes against him. But there are a few NO-NO'S for Charlie... he is a high-energy herding breed and NOT appropriate for the very young children he lives with. He hasn't done anything wrong but the family is wisely identifying the problems BEFORE they escalate (which they WILL once the children walk and run). Charlie is also not good around cats and small animals. Those are his limitations and we can respect that. He is currently living with two children (under 2) and needs to be rehomed or taken into a reputable rescue. Our rescue has no available foster homes... but what we CAN do is share Charlie's story. We can also assist by screening potential adoptive families and representing Charlie through our adoption search engines. We offer Charlie an "umbrella" of sorts. We want to help and this is how we can. Please submit the dog adoption application, linked below, if you would like to be considered: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/31712/generic This is a bit of a "post script rant" but it needs to be said... It's always so important, when properly placing a dog, to not set the dog up for failure. And most importantly... keep everyone SAFE. It is for this reason that we embrace surrendering owners. It is not our place to disparage them. We exist in the utilitarian capacity of HELPING THE ANIMAL. We cannot and do not serve the animals if we waste our time and energy pointing fingers and shaming owners. We want to fully support that animal in their important next step. And we must all be on the #sameteam if we are to accomplish that. Located in Ocala FL ##1860812##

Story
We rescued Bodi from Levy County 2 years ago and he is the best boy. We noticed early on he itched a lot but thought it was due to us living in the forest and him playing in high grass. We have been to a few vets and done multiple food trials and had him on Apoquel and changed him to Jinx Salmon dog food and that helped with the itching. He also gets constant yeast infections in his ears so we clean them every other day and he gets ear drops. We now have a baby and are down to one income and simply cannot afford to do the test the vet says he needs to continue to help him. They say it is most likely environmental allergies and he would need to be on something and special food for food and that’s just not something we can manage. He is house trained and never once had an accident inside, he is great with our baby and great with other dogs. He has become reactive on the leash since we had our son but off the leash wouldnt hurt a fly. We just want him to get the care he deserves.

Story
Loomis and his 4 siblings (who will be vetted on November 6th) came into rescue in pretty bad shape. The lady who initially took them in stated they were almost hairless and bloated from worms. She dewormed them and applied a flea control until we could take them in. Their hair started to come back but they were still bloated when we picked them up and heavily infested with hookworms so we dewormed them again with a Drontal and they are gorgeous and thriving now. Loomis and his siblings are really friendly, loving pups. We saw a picture of their mom who was a purebred Australian shepherd (who also had hairloss-we assume it was probably flea related since applying flea control helped tremendously). We believe dad to be a lab or lab mix so we expect the pups to mature to a medium to smaller large size. These pups have personality and love attention. They definitely had a great start with social skills despite their lack of early health care so they should fit easily into any home or family environment. Since they are pups, they are blank slates and you will be able to acclimate them to your kids, cats, farm animals and so on so they can live peacefully amongst them. Also, being pups, they will require training as they are not housebroken or crate trained. They have not experienced a leash either. They do well in a fenced area and have not shown a desire to climb or dig out. They will have a lot to learn, as most babies do but we feel that they will grow up to be wonderful, cherished members of the family with alittle effort and time invested to help them to become the best dogs that they can be. If you want a fun pup who makes you laugh and exudes personality, look no further than Loomis and his siblings! Loomis saw the vet on 10/30/24 and was found to have no issues on his exam. He also tested negative on his fecal. Initially, we gad Loomis checked on 10/16/24 and he was loaded with hookworms and anemic so we dewormed him with Drontal. He also had patchy hair loss which has also cleared up now. Hecis too young for a heartworm test but he has started on heartworm prevention and flea control (Simparica Trio). Loomis weighed 12 pounds as of 10/30/24, nearly doubling his weight of 6.7 pounds on 10/16/24. If interested in giving Loomis his forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Loomis's adoption fee will be $200 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Loomis based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
