Story
Bentley is loyal and easy to train. We rescued Bentley a few years ago. He was an only dog until 2 years ago. He fathered 6 puppies and we rehomed all but 2 of them. Bentley was ok with the puppies until they got older. Now he protects his food and sometimes the house when they come in from outside. Bentley seems anxious around them and would do so much better in an only dog situation. He takes some time to get used to new people. We are willing to have prospective adopters come meet him multiple times to decide if he’s a good fit. Once he is comfortable, he will be your best friend. A good adopter should be willing to let Bentley get to know friends and family patiently.

Story
Dylan is looking for his forever home! We believe he is 9 yo and don’t know much about his past. He came to ASF thin, scared, and matted. Despite his past, he has flourished in his foster home. Dylan is a black tri that is about 35lbs and has limited vision in his left eye, it is not a blue eye. He is very tolerant and does well with brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, teeth brushing, taking medication, ect. He is scared of the noise clippers make. He is not a fan of most forms of water but enjoys playing in the rain. He is a very low energy pup. He will do best in a home with someone who is retired or works from home. He is crate trained. He does not enjoy car rides or leash walks as they stress him out. He struggles with separation anxiety, as many Aussies do, but he also gets stress related poops. He is best kenneled if leaving the house to avoid messes. Dylan is a very sweet pup that is learning to love the good life. He enjoys strolls around the yard, rolling in the grass, and taking a nap at foster mom’s feet. He gets the zoomies anytime foster mom comes back from the grocery store. He is okay with other dogs as long as they allow him his space. Because of his vision he gets nervous when other dogs are in his face. He also does well with other small animals as he is very gentle. He does not climb or jump so you don’t have to worry about him hopping up on the couch or bed, unless you put him there. He is food motivated and gets very excited for meals. He has picked up some tricks from his fellow housemates, like giving his paw for pets, and pressing some of the talking buttons. He is sometimes nervous around new people but is quickly appeased with treats and pets. Dylan is a nervous Nelly that has had a tough life but is a very sweet and gentle boy. He has the best Dobby ears and bleps anytime he falls asleep. If you are looking for a low energy Aussie , Dylan may be your man! He is neutered and up to date on shots. Here is the link to the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Story
Gabby and Spice are bonded “sister and brother”. Gabby is an 8-year-old Blue Merle Australian Shepherd weighing 42 pounds and Spice is a 6-year-old long hair Chihuahua mix weighing 20 pounds. They were thrown out of their home when their owner moved and just left them. They lived outdoors for over a month ☹. The neighbor was feeding them and she reached out to us to take them. They are friendly, affectionate and pretty much stay to themselves. They are not fully house-trained yet so they do need a fenced-in yard. The original owner had a child so they probably are kid-friendly. They have not been cat-tested. The adoption donation for the pair is $500 which includes their spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip. They are waiting for their Forever Home so please come to meet them. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p35/Gabby_%26_Spice.html We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. We have a page on our website that explains our adoption process, and contains a link to our adoption application.
