Story
Kavi is a 3 year old pure bred mini Aussie from a breeder in Northern California. He has been with us from CA all the way to FL. He is beautiful, smart, athletic, pretty chill most of the day, and very loving. He definitely requires an owner who ideally works from home or isn’t out the entire day. He is also a classic herding breed - protective of the home, hesitant to trust new people. He needs to be exposed to someone for a certain period of time before they are in his trusted ‘in circle’ and they are part of his wiggle club rather than his bark club. He has reactive triggers that need work. In a new owner, he would thrive with someone who is willing to put in the work to train him to be a member of the pack, who can intellectually stimulate him, and work around his reactive triggers. An athletic family without children, who doesn’t have people over much would be the best fit for Kavi.

Story
This is Diego. He's an 11 month old Aussie mix that needs a foster home. He was a "free dog" online and the original owners did not represent him honestly with the new owners. Things are not working out and he needs to be properly placed (after full vetting). He is scheduled dor neuter on Tuesday. We hope to have a foster in place by then. He's great with his people and FEMALE dogs. His behavior around cats is unknown because the family does not have cats. There was a pretty bad fight between Diego and the senior male dog in this family. Since the fight the family has been distrusting of his behavior around the four-year-old as well so to be safe they have kept them separate. This is why he has to go. For this reason, we do not want him fostered with male dogs until he has been vetted and properly evaluated. We also do not feel that he should be placed in a home with young children until vetting and evaluation. He's a beautiful boy and deserves a happily ever after. We can help him find it!! It may well be he just needs his testosterone to be taken care of. Many dogs settle down after neuter and it's never fair to these animals when the original owners do not divulge all the information to the new owners. We feel this is a combination of situations that has just worked against Diego. Foster application can be filled out through this link: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/31711/generic If you fill out a foster application please give our director a heads up as we do not have a volunteer readily responding to applications at this time. It helps us to know that one has been submitted. You may text Aspen at 352-843-6858 ##1357659##

Story
Meet Samantha aka Sam! This is THE puppy for any dog sports you might have in mind. She is high energy but super biddable and smart as a whip. Sam is one of a litter of puppies we have here after rescuing their mom. Her nickname has always been 'Adventure Pup' and she was the first to do everything. On top of that she is super sweet and loves human interaction. We have to admit, even though all of them are hard to give up, Sam is definitely the hardest! Sam is looking for a home that understands Australian Shepherds and/or Border Collies and has the time and energy to work with her. Obedience will be a must for this smart busy baby! We will be very picky for this pup but know the right home will get an incredible girl. Sam was born 11/24/2024 has had her first vaccines (she will be due for her second set in late Feb) and is microchipped. She will come with a mandatory spay agreement requirement due to being too young to spay currently.
