Story
Sparky is an almost 4 yo energetic boy who has a drive to go after chickens and bunnies, which is why he was returned to us, so no access to chickens or bunnies is a must.  He's very affectionate, loves his humans. Good with other dogs (even tiny ones) and kids. He is house trained after getting comfortable in his foster home.  Sparky knows his name, will come when called, will sit for treats, has no resource guarding. He likes being outside, would be happy with a big yard and lots of activity.  If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website and complete an adoption application at www.elpasocountycanine.org/adopt ##1107088##

Story
This puppy was born in one of our Foster homes after their mom was rescued while pregnant from from a high kill shelter in Texas. They will be ready to go home after 12/27! Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2248412##

Story
Grizzly is a Mini American Shepherd (this was not one of the selectable options). He is a purebread dog and was purchased from a breeder in Utah for $800 as a pet dog, not a show dog. He is timid and very friendly; he gets along well with our pit bull mix male dog and our chickens (he loves to chase them but has never hurt them). He is very high-energy and was purchased as a support dog for our teenage daughter. She has become busy with high school activities, and due to my husband and my very demanding work schedules, we do not have the time to devote to training Grizzly. He would do well with someone who wants a dog that needs attention and doesn't mind walking and training him. He is great with children but is very shy. He is mostly house-trained but does still have accidents occasionally.

Story
Meet Doe. She is a friendly and adorable young Australian Shepherd Border Collie mix puppy. She is around 6 months old and 25bs. Doe is a little difficult to figure out, we think she may be fully grown based on her teeth, she acts like a puppy but we dont expect her to get much bigger.  Doe is very shy, she gets very excited and whiney but she actually wont approach you. If another dog jumps up at you, she'll do the same but run away as soon as you go to pet her. She'll take some time to warm up to you and will need some patience. Treats will do the trick, she was very motivated by the crepes in her foster home.  Here is a video of Doe and her sister Brittany:https://youtu.be/ZYeUXVF49Dw Doe ended up in a shelter in Kansas prior to her arrival into Colorado. We don't have any of her backstory. However, in her foster home, she has done well with other dogs, she doesn't have any accidents in the crate overnight, sleeps through the night, she is food motivated and isn't particularly vocal.  Doe currently lives with her foster in Denver, Colorado and an adoption meeting would happen at the fosters home. Doe is fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Doe knows just how miraculous a turn her life has taken when she was picked out by Havok's Wolfpack and she is determined to live her new life to the fullest in the most playful and adventurous way, hopefully, with you. Her adoption fee is $600. To submit an adoption application for Doe , head over to our website:http://www.havokswolfpack.com/adopt/ or https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/18644/generic If your application is approved, we will contact you promptly. ##2253640##
