Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Elizabeth, CO *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Rosie! She is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 65 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Rosie is fearful of strangers! She is good with kids and cats! No dogs, due to her reactivity! She is housebroken and crate-trained. Rosie bit a neighbor’s child who walked into their house unexpectedly. She also bit a woman who tried to break up a fight between her dog and Rosie. The owner is surrendering her because she is aggressive towards their smaller pets and strangers. If you think you can provide a great home for Rosie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Rosie. Story
In Buena Vista: Hi my name is Sven, I am 7 years old and looking for my furever family. I love working from home with my foster, enjoy going to sniff spots and love taking naps. I am the typical Aussie as I follow my foster mom everywhere, protect my house, and love to play. I am very smart and love to snuggle. I need a special type of home and a new family that will continue to help me get past my past training. I was trained inappropriately with a shock collar and I am so nervous when I see another dog as I was shocked for barking to have them back off. I have gotten so much better in my foster home but it has taken a while and a lot of snacks. I need a family that will only use positive training, has a 6 foot privacy fence, and will snuggle with me. I need to be the only pet in the home but I do well with older kids. I love to be active and look forward to finding my furever family. Sven is being fostered in Colorado for Australian Shepherds Furever, we are a 501c3 and are PACFA licensed. Please email asfmtnrep@gmail.com or PM Melissa Taylor for more information. All pups in our care are up to date on vaccines, microchipped,m spayed/neutered and loved. We do home inspection and reference checks. Sven is very obedient and smart, needs someone to call his furever. If interested, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which covers the registration and transfer to Sven's new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Madison is a beautiful blue merle Australian Shepherd with a gentle soul who’s learning to see the world with a little more confidence each day. She can be a bit shy and unsure at first, but with patience and encouragement, her sweet personality really begins to shine. Madison will need a home with a confident, well-adjusted dog already in place to help guide her and show her that the world isn’t so scary. Having a steady canine companion gives her the reassurance she needs to continue building confidence and feel secure. She’s also currently on a weight-loss journey, so her future family will need to be committed to helping her stay on track with a healthy diet and regular exercise. With consistency and care, she’ll be feeling her best in no time! Madison is looking for a calm, patient home that will allow her to blossom at her own pace. In return, she’ll form a deep bond and become a loyal, loving companion. If you have a kind heart, a confident pup, and the dedication to help her grow, Madison could be the perfect addition to your family. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Meet Dumpling, a 7-month-old Australian Shepherd with a gentle spirit and so much potential waiting to blossom. Weighing in at 25 pounds, Dumpling is still growing into her personality and discovering the world around her. She can be a bit shy at first, especially in new environments or with unfamiliar people, but once she feels safe, her playful side shines through—especially with other dogs. Dumpling loves to run and play in a fenced yard with her canine friends, and having a confident dog companion helps her feel more secure and learn by example. Dumpling is still working on her leash skills and is learning how to feel comfortable around humans. She’ll need a patient and understanding home that is willing to go at her pace and continue building her confidence through positive experiences. A strong commitment to socializing her will be key to helping her grow into a well-adjusted, happy dog. Because of her shy nature, Dumpling will need to go home with a secure, well-fitted harness, as she can be a bit skittish in new situations. She will also require a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely run and build confidence. For her safety and success, her future home must include another confident dog, and a meet-and-greet at the shelter will be required to ensure it’s the right fit for everyone. With time, patience, and love, Dumpling has the potential to become a loyal and joyful companion. If you’re ready to help this sweet girl come out of her shell, she’ll be so worth it. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet.
