Hi meet Onyxx! He is 3 years old and is a great family dog. He is potty trained, neutered, great with people and kiddos. He doesnt do well with other dogs, especially small dogs. He would do well in a home with no other dogs and with a back yard to get his energy out. He would do well with an experienced owner who can spend time with him and give him the energy outlet he needs.

Story
Hi! I am IQ, and I am currently in a foster home learning how to be the best indoor dog. I grew up living in a kennel outdoors, so I am still figuring out how to fully enjoy the comforts of home and the love of humans. But do not let my shy nature fool you—once I trust you, I will be wagging my tail every time I see you!I absolutely love other dogs and am so gentle with cats too. I would do well in a home with kids who are patient and understanding while I take my time coming out of my shell. I have the perfect energy level—playful yet calm—and I am discovering how fun it is to be a puppy! I enjoy playing with toys, snuggling, and being close to my humans.I am still working on potty training and walking on a leash, but I am so smart and pick up on things quickly. My fur is incredibly soft, and I am on the smaller side, weighing about 30 pounds. I will be the perfect size when I am fully grown!I cannot wait to find my forever family who will give me the time and love I need to blossom. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, and loving companion, I could be your perfect match!

Story
Monkey is a 20 lbs, 1 year old guy. While he looks like a bearded collie, he is actually an Australian Shepherd/Cairn Terrier mix. Monkey likes to monkey around. He doesn’t climb trees though, nope that’s not his style. Monkey climbs fences! He’s a master of it! Although, he tends to do it just to get where his person is. Monkey bonds very hard to his human and would very much appreciate a person looking to bond with him. He’s dog and cat friendly, but little humans and strangers are scary for him. Monkey is working on his leash skills but for now a securely fenced in yard is required because leash cv walks aren’t his jam. At 1 year old, Monkey hasn’t seen much of the world yet. He was raised in the same home as his canine mom, dad, and siblings since birth and is just learning about life outside of his home now that he’s in foster care. Monkey is looking for a patient, affectionate, human that’s home often to spend time with him. Monkey is in foster in Fort Lupton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/monkey. Story
Miss Kahlua is ready to get the party started! This high energy, compact, Aussie/Spaniel mix comes in at a whopping 35 lbs at only around 2-3 years old. She knows nothing of the concept of personal space, BUT she has a giant brain and is eager to learn and please her peeps. Kahlua LOVES her humans and is a Velcro dog. She’s affectionate and snuggly. Kahlua will do well in an active, adventurous home. She’s dog friendly after a good introduction, however she’s perfectly content being an only dog, as well. Kahlua seems house trained at her foster home and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She’s NOT a fan of staying in her crate during the day while her foster parents work and she will verbally complain about that a bit, so she’s best suited in a home without shared walls. A large yard for games of fetch is more her jam. Kahlua is being fostered in Greeley, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/kahlua/. Story
Ernie has the biggest ear-to-ear smile you’ll ever see! This happy guy has much to smile about, too! Ernie entered MHCR as a transfer from a local CO shelter where he found himself unclaimed after his stray hold. Ernie is a little dude, around 20 lbs, and only a year old. The shelter was a horrifying place to him and exhibited what we, in the dog world, call stranger danger. Due to this behavior, he wasn’t an adoptions candidate for them. So, he came to us in hopes a foster home would be just what he needed. Turns out, it was! Ernie take a beat to warm up to new people, but once he does he’s a very loving, sweet, and affectionate guy. He’s good with dogs and likes to play, but he doesn’t love dogs all up in his business right off the bat. He seems very at ease with kiddos, too! Ernie is crate trained and does well on a leash. His favorite thing is snuggling in blankets and playing with them. He loves to run laps and is quite a high jumper (likely competed in the Olympics in a past life). While it has waned, Ernie does still struggle with stranger danger and will do best in a home patient humans that don’t have a chaotic home with new people in and out. It took him a few days to get used to his foster dad coming and going, but now they’re bffs. He will need a dedicated family that will continue his controlled socialization and acclimation. If you think Ernie could be for you, please apply! Ernie is being fostered in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/ernie/. Hero is the hero we all need! Hero has come such a long way since entering his foster home.  He was very scared and unsure at first, but with some encouragement he has gained a lot of confidence. He is unsure with new people but warms up pretty well and is sure to be your velcro dog once he trusts you. He is a big lover like a teddy bear, he loves to cuddle.  Hero does great walking on a leash and loves to learn new things. He knows how to sit, stay and some oter basic commands, he is a smart boy! Hero is potty trained and crate trained! I have 2 small dogs of my own and he has gotten along with them well, he likes to tease them to get them to play with him and they chase eachother around. He loves to play with toys, tug-o-war is his favorite. He sleeps in his kennel at night like a little angel. Hero is the best boy!   ##1981545##

Story
Hi there! My name is Kiss-Kiss, and I’m the sweetest, calmest little pup in my litter. I’m all black with a tiny, adorable white patch on my chest that makes me extra special. While my sisters are busy bouncing around, I’m more likely to be found cuddled up with my foster family or just soaking up the love. I’ve even earned a special spot on the couch—my foster mom says I’m too cute and cuddly to resist!I’m a gentle soul and the most people-loving pup of my sisters. I’d probably do wonderfully in a family with kids because of my calm and affectionate demeanor. I also love other dogs, but I can be a little shy when meeting new friends. Once I meet them face-to-face and realize I’m safe, I warm up quickly and love to play. With plenty of socialization while I’m young, I’ll grow into a confident, well-rounded dog.Like my sisters, I’m working hard on my training! I’m great at sleeping through the night in my crate, and I’m making awesome progress with potty training. I’ve even started learning commands like “sit,” and I’d love to continue training with my forever family.I’d be happiest in a home with a yard where I can stretch my legs and play. While I enjoy a good romp, I’m a bit more relaxed than my sisters, so I’m equally happy curling up with my people for a quiet moment. My foster mom thinks I’ll grow to be a medium-to-large-sized dog (at least 55 lbs), so I’ll need a family ready to help me grow into my big, loving paws.If you’re looking for a gentle, cuddly, and affectionate pup to bring into your family, I think we’d be the perfect match! I can’t wait to meet you and become your best friend for life. ##2245923##

Story
Keeper is sweet, funny, friendly, and extremely smart. He loves cuddling, playing, being with other dogs and humans. He is getting better at separation and has adjusted well to crate time! He is truly impossible to not love and makes you laugh regularly.  You can find Keeper sitting at your feet, snuggling in your lap, or giving you a kiss. He LOVES being loved and looks to you as his "person". He loves wrestling, playing with toys, training with treats, or simply sleeping in your arms. He loves music and being rocked like a baby! Keeper is already close to potty trained and goes potty right away when getting outside. He plays and sleeps hard, but definitely will need exercise, so should go to an active, loving family! Since Keeper is so young, he's new to leashes. However, he is super smart and will absolutely catch on in no time! ##2245927##

Story
This sweet, beautiful girl is Ogallala but everyone calls her Olga. She came to Soul Dog in 2021 fearful and feral. Olga is still very fearful, a high-anxiety neurotic dog, but also very sweet and gentle and silly. For the first several months in her long-term foster home, Olga hid in her selected corner and only snuck around at night. Over time, she has gradually blossomed from cowering in the corner to relaxing on the sofa with the pack, greeting the family when they come home, and soliciting affection. Now instead of trying to hide, one of her favorite past-times is shouting out the window at people and dogs outside. Although she has gained a lot of confidence, Olga still has a lot of fears and triggers. She is terrified of people and loud sounds, and anything that sounds like banging. The sounds of roofers or even kids playing basketball will send her running. When she’s frightened or unsure, her instinct is to bolt, then hunker down and hide. She has come an unbelievably long way during her time with her foster and is starting to learn that some people and places aren't so bad. She needs a kind and understanding person to give her the patience, quiet, time, and love that she desperately needs. Since she has grown very comfortable in and accustomed to her foster home after all this time, ideally, she should have a gradual transition to her forever home to ease her fears and separation anxiety.

Story
Strada is a gem! She was found trying to raise her puppies in a hole under a building. Luckily, she was taken in by Soul Dog and has been in a foster home raising her litter for about 8 weeks. A little shy initially, she warms right up to people. She has a nonstop tail wag and a gentle demeanor. Strada is house trained, social, loves belly rubs and is learning to walk on a leash. She has not had a lot of typical pet dog experiences (like most rez dogs) so she will need a family willing to slowly expose her to the world. She is a survivor, so she also will need a human smarter than she is! She has been around older kids and other dogs without issues and does well in a kennel left alone. She’s going to make someone a very loyal and loving friend!! She is around 53lbs.
