**Meet Velma – A 1-Year-8-Month-Old Kelpie Mix**Velma is a 1 year and 8 month old Kelpie mix who arrived at the shelter as a stray on January 11, 2024, along with Daphne, who is currently in foster care.Velma is a nervous girl who requires a patient and understanding person, as well as a calm canine companion, to help her feel at ease. She has a charming smile and is quite vocal. Velma walks well on a leash and, once comfortable with her people, enjoys snuggling and has bursts of energy known as zoomies.She may initially be wary of strangers and may hide behind kennel staff when meeting new people. Velma tends to be dominant with other dogs once she warms up, so a respectful and submissive canine friend would be ideal for her. She is not suited for a home with cats.As of May 13, 2024, Velma graduated from Yuppy Puppy Training, and they are eager to continue her training once she is adopted.If you are looking for a loyal and loving companion who needs a bit of extra patience and care, Velma could be the perfect fit for your home.
