He's eager to please and always looking for positive feedback from his humans. At the same time, he has a strong personality and Doc likes to be in charge and can be a bit assertive when meeting other dogs, but he is great with people. Once he gets settled, though, he’s all about fun and play! With his high energy, Doc will need some training to help him understand his boundaries. But he's super intelligent and motivated to learn. While he hasn't had much exposure to cats or large livestock, a slow introduction would be best. Doc already knows at least five basic commands, is housetrained, and crate-trained. Since he’s food-driven, training with treats should go smoothly. Doc would likely do best as the only dog in the home, at least initially, and it’s probably best for him to be in a home without small children. Thinking about inviting Doc into your home? Give us a call at (406) 446-3500 or visit www.beartoothhumane.org to kick off the adoption adventure!January 29, 2025, 1:47 pm

Tammie is a 5-year-old female Australian Shepherd with a tender heart and a gentle soul. Since arriving at the shelter a couple of months ago, Tammie has made incredible progress. Though naturally timid, she’s beginning to open up and show her sweet personality to those who take the time to earn her trust. Tammie adores love and affection and is happiest when she’s close to someone who cares for her. She’s eager to please and has a quiet, calm demeanor that makes her a joy to be around. She does well with other dogs, though we’re still unsure how she feels about cats. Every day, we’re learning more about this lovely girl, and we can’t wait to see her continue to blossom. Tammie is ready to find a patient and understanding forever family who will provide her with the love and security she needs. Meet Mickie! Mickie is a 3-5 year old Australian Shepherd with a heart as big as her beautiful smile. This sweet girl thrives on affection and will happily soak up all the love you can give her. With her playful nature, squeaky toys and playing fetch are her absolute favorite—she’ll keep you entertained with her joyful enthusiasm!
